No love for Ryle???

I think this is a good poll. I am sure there are good reasons as to why Ryle is not in the top ten in 6A.

 

I would like to see Henry Clay at number 3 ahead of Simon Kenton. The Blue Devils have thrown in two poor performances this season to drop them to number 4.

Ryle did lose to SK in a big way but they could still match up to many of the teams in the top ten, especially the bottom 5. SK is just that good this year and gaining momentum. They would probably beat most of the 6A teams bad right now.

 

I would not drop Ryle or any of the other Boone County schools down too far in 6A. They can play with just about anyone.

Trust me this isn't the same team that lost to HC earlier in the year. I would say SK would beat HC by at least 2 tds now.. I believe SK should be #2 behind St. X in 6a...JMO

Can't put any KY team ahead of X or T until they get beaten by an in-state team.

 

Trinity destroyed SK last year in state and deserve the #2 ranking until they get beat by someone in-state besides X!

 

That being said they will face a tough test this weekend at Ballard.

This is 2009 not 2008..Simon Kenton is a ton better and Trinity is a lot worse. This year SK is better..

You wouldn't think...but Trinity does not have Miles Simpson. Also, SK has a couple of lineman Trinity would love to have. Different team, different season.

 

However, you may never know due to NKY having to go through St. X. The best two teams may truely play in the regional finals, just as X and T have met many times.

That's ok. I think it is better that Simon Kenton has to go through both Trinity and St. X. That way if they win, no one can say it was a one game fluke.

HC should be in the 7-9 range. This is not the same team that got out of the gates 4-0. They are limping into the last two weeks of the season, and could possibly make an early exit in the playoffs.

All these NKY folks thinking Simon Kenton is better is rather quaint in my opinion. Almost adorable in its innocence.

 

Nonetheless I have never seen an NKY squad that isn't named Highlands who has been able to shut down the passing attack the Rocks have since Beatty has been there. As such, if SK is lucky enough to meet up with Trinity in the playoffs I fully expect a Trinity victory, yet again. Although I will give credit where credit is due and say that I would expect SK to score 2 TDs in that game.

 

Not that it really matters though since St.X will likely contain Miles Simpson (not shut down, but limit) in the playoffs and force SK to throw the ball.

Doesn't SK's and Trinity's districts play each other in the first 3 rounds of the playoffs? If so SK will see what it's made of, that district is strong - Seneca, Eastern, Ballard and Trinity.

The regions have been rotated and SK will face St. X's district. If we play it will be in the title game.
