Boone won in 2008. They and the Colonels were both in the top half of the bracket and played in the semi's. Triple OT thriller and Boone won by one I think. Trevan Brown and Jake Thelen had a greate battle. Boone then cruised in the finals, Pretty sure they played Dixie. I also think Cov Cath won in 2009, but not certain. Memory is not what it used to be!

Thank you for verifying! I have not lost it - yet. I was pretty certain it did happen. I thought I had heard that some kids got in trouble for it as well.

When the boy was playing 8 years ago, there was a decent size contingent of Highlands students that would come to the Cov Cath gym it seems for the games. I also thought there was one year when they showed up with a state championship trophy if I recall correctly. I am old but I thought that was Highlands and was not all that long ago. Maybe someone else remembers.

IMO the CJ should win the award if things continue. He has not had the 'bad' games that Kunkel did. Yes Kunkel was hurt, but he played and the games still count. CJ is also turning it on even more now and if that continues, he deserves it.

Exactly - I mean if either team can only win one game on their schedule, I bet that the vast majority of the team would say they would want to win this game. I think it is true in all sports between these two. That is why I was realized surprised by the lack of Highlands students at the game. I guess they could have all decided to go to the girls game as was mentioned above, but I am struggling to believe that was the case.

Showed again why IMO he is player of the year in Region, and a favorite for State.

What defense the Colonels played tonite. I only stayed till halftime after catching the second half of the frosh game, the entire JV, but they played unbelievable defense. Great game all around. Where were the Highlands students though? When I was leaving a saw maybe a couple who could have been students, not sure, but there were no Highlands students standing at all in the first half at least.

I hope too that no one else gets the flu but Cov Cath had 75 students out today sick, many diagnosed with the flu and one hospitalized. They also had 180 students ride buses up to DC to participate in the March for Life Thursday thru Saturday, so there were plenty of chances for the Flu to spread. In fact my son said someone got sick in the back of his bus. Not sure if any basketball players went, but even if they did not, good chance they all have been exposed. By the way - glad to see the good guys get the win!
