  1. If that is the case how is he still coach. I mean if everyone at the school wanted him out, wouldn't he be out?
  2. This is so sad. I can not imagine the family's suffering. LOTS of questions and blame around this from the Officer's, 911 operations, and even the Honda minivan itself. I also wonder if he was going to practice, one would think someone would notice he was not there, but saw him earlier, and saw his van, but not him. If I was a friend of his on the team I imagine I may even be questioning myself. So so sad
  3. I remember this day very well too. My dad was an electric troubleman for CGE back then, so he was called in to work before they hit, and then bascially got no time off for a couple weeks. (technically he worked 16 on 8 off but still seemed like he was never home. He had some good stories to tell about not only first hand accounts, but the aftermath as well. Mom and my brother and sisters were down in the basement for a long time, like others listening to the radio for updates. Living in Villa Hills we did not have any on top of us, but the one that rolled thru across the river in Saylor Park was not too far away. Close enough to make it interesting.
  4. I think the ability to do both is there - question is - could dad handle it?
  5. Michael announced today that University of Nebraska has offered him.
  6. Sounds like a good game. Who pitched for the Colonels? How did they get the two runs? I heard the weather was not real good for the game, so not too upset I could not get out of work to attend.
  7. I back in almost all the time, unless I can pull thru. I find when I pull up to spots I can clearly see what is going on, with regards to pedstrians and other cars, so it is safer to back in quickly. When you pull in and need to back out, IMO you do not have as clear of picture of your surroundings, as they have changed from the time you pulled into the spot, so it is safer to pull out than to back out. This especially true IMO with driveways. When people park on the street opposite the driveway which you pull into, it is sometimes tough to see how close you are to their vehicle. Backing in and pulling out, no problem.
  8. Just saw Michael was offered by University of Alabama! Congrats Michael

  10. He did play those two years. What is even more interesting is there are a lot of differences between that roster, and what is posted on the school site. On the KHSAA one it shows several guys who did not try out, and at least one who was cut. There also are names of players on the team and on the school roster, who are not on the KHSAA one.
  11. As much as I would love to see AJ play, I do not see him listed on the roster on the school website. Where did you see him listed?
  12. Yes i am dead serious. I certainly understand why they do as I have been around basketball long enough, but I dont like it. I also understand that it has worked for them. (And am extremely happy it did) However, looking at yesterday for example. 1) They were able to trap our PG a few times to force turnovers, but SC was unable to capitalize. If they had turned those into points it could have been a different game. 2) If SC was able to exchange 3's for 2 FT attempts, it could have been a different game. The lead was only 9 pts if I remember to start the fourth, so it would not take many of these 2 for 3 exchanges to get it close. 3) We only had IMO two guys who if I was coach would be handling the ball in this situation. One of which got in trouble several times and had to either call time out or he turned it over. SC was very aggressive in their trapping defense and if they had played a bit more under control the outcome could have been different. IMO SC paniced way too early. Again, I understand why the Colonels did what they did and of course the good thing is they came out on top once again!
  13. Congrats to the Colonels! Very happy for all members of the team, coaching staff and administration. Being the last one standing at the end of the season is why you all have worked so hard this year. As a fan, I say Thank you for the enjoyment you have provided me this year. Now, enjoy it for a bit, and then get back to work! Next year will be here before you know it. Now some random thoughts and comments from the game 1) The Finals of the Ky Sweet Sixteen basketball tourney is such an awesome event and environment is just awesome. I don't know how you would make it better 2) The crazies were entertaining the entire tournament. Way to represent. 3) I HATE when we start to play not to lose at the beginning of the fourth quarter. 4) The big guy from Scott County- Moreno, you can tell is a very good player but it seemed like he did not try and dominate for his team. Not sure if was coaching or what 5) I was shocked at the relatively small number of Scott County students there. Being it was the finals, the size of the school, and the proximity to Rupp, I expected there to be a good back and forth banter between the two student sections. There really was none. 6)I did not like the SC students calling a colonel player ugly while he was shooting free throws. I hate personal attacks. Maybe the crazies did too as I was farther from them, but I did not hear them. If they did shame on them. 7) I also hate hearing the bull :poop: chant when they feel the ref made a bad call 8) Personally I thought it was a well officiated game. Let them play but not get too physical 9) Football and Basketball are in the books, so now let's get baseball!

  15. I can tell you most assuredly that this was not the case for Bryce and his family. They were devastated to get the news that the surgery was required.
  16. Yes it is a shame that Bryce has to undergo this surgery. Big strong kid that I have watched play for years now. He has thrown a lot of pitches over the last few years, both in summer, showcases and High School. I have no doubt he will come back from this, but just hate seeing him miss this year. With a strong summer I also believe he would have increased his offers pitching for Midland this year.
  17. After very slow start blue colonels starting to settle down and get it together
  18. My thoughts exactly. There was no need for him to hand at all, and when he did, pretty obvious T IMO. As for the 'traffic' underneath, again no need to hang as he would not have hurt anyone. Regardless, Cooper did not lose becuause of this play. They lost because they missed shots. Cov Cath missed shots too. CJ missed shots that are normally money. As Coach Cal says, it happens, these kids are not machines. Great game to watch as a fan though. Well worth the $6 ticket. Only thing I wish was different though, my Colonels are not the type of team that is good at playing not to lose. in that 4th QTR when they started running clock and forcing Cooper to foul, I thought they were gonna lose it. If Cooper would have had a couple more threes, we would have lost. Can not exchange 2 for 3 when you dont have a bigger lead. Also, not enough ball handlers to run enough clock. At least IMO, and the old guys I was sitting with. Anyway, very happy they won, and good look at State!
  19. Get the Rav4. You will be helping the company I work for! In all seriousness, as long as you do the maintenance, they will go forever.
  20. I have not know Mark but for the last 6 years living next door to him. Never knew or remember seeing him play, but I can tell you this - He was a better human being than he was a player. What a guy. Would help anyone who needed it if he could, even though he did not have much more than who he was helping. He loved doing that. He was truly a great dude. He will be missed. Love ya man!
