Covington Catholic coming off another strong win and set to become 5A #1 after the Purples loss to PRP, host Cooper 0-2. Cooper has lost to two decent teams in Highlands and Newport Central Catholic, and schedule does them no favors in week 3.

 

Does anyone think Cooper can pull off the upset or will The Colonels roll?

Can't stop or even slow CCH down in this one. I see the 2nd and 3rd stringers getting a lot of playing time in this one.

This will be a running clock early in the second half. Sorry Cooper. Cov Cath is loaded with talent and have multiple ways to score. They will score often and quickly.

I agree. 2nd,3rd string will be in prior to the half & running clock. Hopefully, Jags can @ least score & not end up w/a goose egg on the scoreboard... CCH won't take it easy on the Jags after losing in region finals last yr in BB & Cooper finishing state runner-ups. It's going be an ugly night for Cooper.

First half running clock is never a good thing but should be the case in this one. Cooper is very young and will take some lumps but hopefully by the end of the year they can learn from their early season struggles.

I was just thinking about it...Cov Cath hasn't started out a season 3-0 since before I was in high school. Just going from memory, I think 1992 might have been the last time?

This will be ugly. I think the Cov Cath Defense will score more than Cooper. I'd get my D1 QB out of the game as early as possible.

I stopped and watched the Cov Cath practice. Very strong this year, with play makers at the skill positions. I think this could be CC's year to finally make it past the third round of the playoffs. Colonels win big in this one.
