I believe there were home soccer games already scheduled.

That was not the reason. Ask a Cooper Fan!

Can't you tell us? Cooper fans I talk to said CovCath wouldn't move it.

Rain is fun to play in. Let them play tomorrow. This isn't bad mitten.

Lol. Sorry but Boone,

Conner and Coopers fields are all equally bad. What would moving from one bad field to another do?

It was "tongue in cheek." And it allows me to make the point that God intended football to be played on grass. A little bit of rain never bothered this guy...

BTW, I thought Cooper's field was the best I've ever seen it when Boone scrimmaged you there this summer.

It usually is pretty decent until mid way through the season when soccer and football games take its toll.

Why wasn't the game changed to today due to the storms predicated for tomorrow?

Cooper is to blame for not moving the game. CovCath wanted to move the game.

The Cooper Powers that be refused to move the game.

And I find it laughable that anyone from Cooper is complaining about another school holding up a "transfer" considering how Cooper does business when it comes to players leaving their football program.

Rumor I heard was that CC asked to move to Thurs or sat & Borchers didn't agree to either.

Football should not be moved for rain only. If highly likely there will be lightning and delays or cancellation then move. I think is supposed to be pretty much a rain event here . We'll see.

How ironic. This week I learned a lot about the transfer process (started by this thread). I had a conversation with an administrator at Cooper and they clearly stated the school is not holding up any transfer paperwork. It is the policy of the school to get that processed efficiently and wish the best to any departing athlete.

If any the no is being held up, it is with KHSAA not the school as was determined to be the case with Michael Spencer. Similarly it is the case with a transfer from Cooper to Ryle. No specifics were given but another source indicated that there may have been some bait and switch address wise which is complicating this transfer.

Not sure what the Cooper staff did to spur your hate, but at least in this case your ill will appears to be unfounded.

I'll have to disagree with you on that one, HB. That little half-acre you got there usually looks like it was lopped off from a cow pasture. The field is as rough as a cob and that's at the beginning of the season. The grass has grown on clumps of dirt. This is especially noticeable when the soccer team plays. You never know what the ball might do when it's kicked along the surface. When I had a son on Boone's soccer team Me and @Yellow Card used to kid one another in the soccer forum about whose field was worse, Cooper's or Boone's. I don't know if we ever settled the debate but I think I was winning right up until Boone had some leaky sprinkler heads just before hosting the district tournament. It hadn't rained in two weeks but there were four or five wet spots around the field that made it difficult on the boys to maintain their footing.

I'm embellishing the severity of conditions at Cooper a bit. It's all in good fun. Seriously, Cooper's field was the best I've seen it this August. I know there are some folks who put a lot of time and effort into improving things like that. I think their efforts are producing results.

But the point is this, football can be played in the mud. It used to be the norm where I come from. Cooper's field will be a fine venue for a football game on Friday night, IMO.

Maybe, but this game is being played at Cov Cath.

This is what I heard also. Cooper was the one that didn't want to change the game. CCH would have changed it if Cooper agreed.

KHSAA is almost surely where the delay is. I don't know if this is a new tactic by KHSAA. This is pure speculation, and perhaps out of line, but situations like this and others plus lack of clarity and transparency by the KHSAA cause the speculation. But, perhaps since the KHSAA knows they basically can't stop transfers, perhaps they are "taking their time" approving transfers so kids who transfer at least pay some price for working their way around the stated rules.

If they would have refused, wouldn't it be their right to do so?

@oldgrappler - Nowadays, I feel that I am getting my just reward. The home matches I get to watch now are being played on a grass surface that is better than some greens that I have putted on.
