I hate to see players at any level taunting one another as well, but an issue I see with it is, where is the line drawn? What is acceptable behavior, that is not considered taunting? What is taunting that is worthy of drawing a penalty / foul or worse? That is my biggest issue - things I consider taunting - you may not. I feel there are actions which are not directed towards a player, but are visible for all players, can be considered taunting. Some may considered celebration type activities - like the dang 3 goggles - as taunting. So, again - where is the line to be drawn. BTW - I was not at the game and have no idea if I would consider Bo's actions as taunting, as I was not there and have not even seen him play this year.

Wow - and I can name just as many kids who have graduated from those two schools who are the exact opposite from you say above. (And yes I too send my kids to Cov Cath) The same as you say above can be said about countless other schools and families. Congrats on the success of your family, I really mean that. I suspect however that their success was due more to the parents and family members, than the school though. Congrats again!

One can say this about every school, with maybe the exception being Covington Latin, and even then as an alum from that school, I can tell you some may question them as well. I can add though from a personal perspective having three boys graduate from Covington Catholic, one of whom is at Graduate school, I have been very happy with the academics at Covington Catholic. If I can get a kid thru College and Grad School without paying a dime, their high school must have taught them something! Yes I do realize he may have been able to get the same preparation at another school, but in his case, it worked out perfectly. Now as far as Pius goes, thank goodness my last is out of after this year because I feel the same way about their academics as the parent above does about Cov Cath! Thats for another thread though.

I agree with your statement, however that has little to do with taking bad versus good shots. Coach's generally are not mad if you miss good shots, but if you miss the same number of bad shots, they will not be, or should not be, happy at all.

Just want to add, I was not at the game and therefore there is no way for me to say that Chuck's assessment was accurate. I only was conveying what was stated on the radio show.

Did anyone else catch Mick Cronin’s radio show last nite? At one point the conversation was on High School Basketball, and how you do not see guys take bad shots. Chuck Machock then mentioned that he saw a game Friday nite with a lot of bad shots taken. He said one team was taking lots of bad shots, while the other team was more disciplined, and taking good shots. The team taking good shots won. He then said that the game was Cov Cath against Holmes. Mick then said something to the effect that ‘without you telling me, I can tell you which team was taking good shots, and which team was not. The team that won their state last year was the one taking good shots.’ I did not hear the entire conversation, but as a Cov Cath fan, it brought a smile to my face!

When my son played in highschool - he would at times have an issue with camping up. For him, Gatorade would provide faster relief than water would. The jugs on the bench always had water. So, there were times when I would get him a Gatorade and give to him during the game. I would always wait till stoppage in play however to give to him. Saw and still see no issue in it.

I figured you would ignore the first part of my post, but certainly expected a better response than that from you to the second part.

If Bob Rowe is more concerned about Football Championships and spends more time focused on that, than the Academic, and Spiritual sides of the school, then I am sending my kids to the wrong place. Yes ultimately Mr Rowe is responsible as the principal, but football championships should not be his highest priority. Also, as far as the coach being the one who is terminated when it may not be totally his fault, isn't that the case almost everywhere, at all levels of sports?

Just saw in the other HC Radio thread that for the first time ever, Cov Cath iRadio - will be video as well! So, at least if you do not have your ticket yet, you can watch. Is Jordan still involved with the NKU men's team? And I agree really good guy. He coached the 7th grade boys team at Pius last year while still working with NKU.

Brother is also playing JV basketball as a frosh at Cov Cath. Uncle Rich I heard was a pretty good athlete at Highlands as well, and don't forget about Grandpa - Being a member of the All Century Basketball team at LSU. So, yea - some pretty good bloodlines in that family.
