Numbers seemed down at the first day of practice for South Kenton. Anyone have the official #'s? Still some families on vacation and some others will be late so it may be too early.

Seems like a good from everything I hear. Hope he has a great season.

Interesting to me, thus far, is that Highlands is out of the top 3 and Scott in the top 10 consistently.

Thought you were looking for the best basketball players that also starred as football players. First thought was Derek Smith at HHS. Tim Couch at LCHS.

If I were the coach of one of these two schools I'd be leery of accusing the other school of trying to gain influence over some of my players that were originally someone else's players (by district only). :smug:

No doubt that those coaches want to win and are not loyal to anyone in the program. You could be Tom Brady one day and Akili Smith the next, depending on who washes out from a big time D1 school.

Saw a post that Dixie Raiders have disbanded for this season. Those kids interested in playing are eligible to compete for South Kenton.

Don't forget that many go and end up medically DQ'd as well. Football is a bruising sport and it's difficult to make it four or five more years past HS when the talent is bigger, stronger and faster.

My $ was on one of the other candidates. Kind of shocked but see it as a good move for everyone involved. Good luck to Coach Otte!

Is this young lady a difference maker at Highlands? What are her per game averages from her last season?

Looking forward to seeing Scott play. As an outsider with a ton of contacts over there should be interesting to see how the kids perform.
