Have to improve the schedule.

It's a little late for that isn't it. The season starts in a couple of weeks.

Have to improve the schedule.

They are playing all the 6a schools in NKY which they should, and all are decent games except for Boone. They are mandated by Kenton County Schools to play Scott and Dixie. They've got Highlands, whom people have been calling them out to play for years. Bryan Station is a solid 6a program and a good game. CAL is a good 2A team, but probably shouldn't be on the schedule. So really, only one game could really be replaced (CAL). I think it's a decent schedule, considering their hands are tied with district games and the mandated Scott and Dixie games.

Simon will dominate again this year. Williams and Racke. Having a drop back passer QB is not as effective in high school ball as having an efficient passer that can run. Racke is one of the best all around athletes in NKY. To win they need to keep doing what they do well. QB keep mixed with a few run plays and short passes. Simon Kenton will be the team leaving NKY once again in the playoffs this year.

Anyone who thinks CAL can't beat SK this year is crazy. They were winning in the 2nd half last year.

CAL could absolutely upset SK, but they will need to bring their A+ game. SK looks to be bigger, faster, and more experienced than last year.

CAL gave them a better game than Highlands last year, and will this year too.

It wont shock me if Ryle beats SK this year during the regular season.

Curious as to your reasoning, as I have heard this several times now. I do believe Ryle will be improved over last year but so should SK. SK was 2-0 against them last year both by multiple scores, they have more returning starters, and they pretty much handled them at the JV level. Again I think Ryle is going to be very good this year I just don't see them making up that much ground to be the favorite over SK.

They do suffer from a weak district, and it's unfortunate that they must play Scott and Dixie. Bryan Station, Cooper, Ryle, and Highlands are all good choices and they can't help that Highlands is likely to be down this year. However I think they should skip Connor. I would suggest replacing them with a Cincy team to give SK at least one game against a really tough team.

Given SK's recent success and program improvement I think they could find a team across the river that's interested. The Harbin system rewards based on the opposing team's win-loss record and SK will likely have more good records in the future. Obviously it's too late for this year, but it's something to think about for future scheduling.

How did SK do at the Oldham county 7 on 7? Do they go up against ryle

I feel like this thread will be a little less exciting compared to the past ones, I also felt the same about this years Highlands thread. Hmm

Good luck to SK!

Just a note of compliment to the job done by Jeff Markesbury. He has done a remarkable job building the program at SK. Before Jeff, even legends like Jim Daugherty could not get it going on a consistent basis. He has done at SK what Campbell County has been unable to do on a consistent basis.
