They are playing all the 6a schools in NKY which they should, and all are decent games except for Boone. They are mandated by Kenton County Schools to play Scott and Dixie. They've got Highlands, whom people have been calling them out to play for years. Bryan Station is a solid 6a program and a good game. CAL is a good 2A team, but probably shouldn't be on the schedule. So really, only one game could really be replaced (CAL). I think it's a decent schedule, considering their hands are tied with district games and the mandated Scott and Dixie games.

How did SK do at the Oldham county 7 on 7? Do they go up against ryle

 

SK went 3-3 in the Oldham 7 on 7 and lost to Ryle by a touchdown I believe.

Curious as to your reasoning, as I have heard this several times now. I do believe Ryle will be improved over last year but so should SK. SK was 2-0 against them last year both by multiple scores, they have more returning starters, and they pretty much handled them at the JV level. Again I think Ryle is going to be very good this year I just don't see them making up that much ground to be the favorite over SK.

I hope so Plantman but SK has owned us lately. Leaves us saying, maybe this year. We got to get over the hump. We played good against SK but at some point the game just got away far enough we couldn't pull it off. SK was good last year at getting critical stops and capitalizing on it by stacking scores to get a safe lead. I dont think you can replace Powell with who is left. Racke is going to be impressive this year. But will he be as effective withought as much run support? Line play for us will be the difference between winning and losing. Maybe this year? No easy task killing the King of late.

Hear what your saying but disagree. All things being equal (both teams play their best game) Simon wins 10 out of 10 times. And SK has their history with Ryle to prove it. Wasn't Ryle supposed to challenge SK last year, but neither game felt close. Until Ryle shows something against SK I don't see it happening. I imagine Cooper or Bryan Station being just as tough if not tougher games.

That's a big question for sure. I spoke with coach M recently and he didn't seem worried about their RBs and I know he wouldn't blow smoke up my behind. I look forward to the Ryle game, they weren't far off our pace in 2015.

I think Cooper challenged SK last year better than Ryle did...per the scoreboard especially in the play-offs. I don't think - sadly - that that will be the case in 2016. Football is a cyclical game, and I think Ryle will be better than Cooper this season, but not better than the Pioneers. SK will be the cream of the crop in NKy, but I don't see them heading to BG this year either. I look for them to lose the same round as they did in 2015.

I can see SK going 10-0 again this year with a deep run into the playoffs. Also I know I have knocked on their schedule a couple of times but you play the schedule your given. I caught the Ryle game last year and will probably drive up to catch the game again this year. Good Luck on the upcoming season

That will depend on records and seating. Highest seat gets to host.

If I am not mistaken SK and Ryle will not play each other until the semi's this year. That means SK will have to beat Lafeyette and Ryle will have to beat Scott Co in the regionals first. If and when that happens the semifinal game will be at Ryle.

Interesting seeing how Cooper played SK the closest last year in both games they played. Cooper actually should have won their playoff game if not for a dropped 2 pt conversion at the end of the game. Now Cooper should be down this year compared to last year but they were still that 1 team you talk about that should have been the team to beat SK

SK will likely go 10-0 in the regular season then flame out in the playoffs as usual. Has SK reconfigured their stadium to comply with KHSAA recommendations?
