Cooper doesn't look so much to slow the game down as they look to get in your face on defense. They give you 32 minutes of hard in your face man-to-man defense. They will push the ball when it is there and they will shoot the open 3 if it is there but more often than not they will work the perimeter and look for an opening in the defense and take the good shot. They also look to crash the boards and always have somebody ready to stop the run out from happening. You don't get a lot of wide open looks or fast break points on them. Coach Sullivan demands hustle, hustle and more hustle.

Imo this is the signature win that coach Sullivan needed at Cooper. It is the win that gives them real "cred". The only problem with this win is that it makes coach Sullivan's job that much harder. Not only will he have to work that much harder to keep his kids focused and down to earth but he will no longer be able to sneak up on teams outside of his district. Believe me the other coaches in his district were aware of how hard his teams play but now the others are as well. Great win for the program.

I have not seen Beechwood play but I will tell you that Cooper will give you a much tougher game than the Beechies this year.

I couldn't agree more. That's what makes the Bank of Ky. such a nice option for the regional. Do you know of anyone that likes standing in the cold waiting for them to clear the gym between regional games?

Look for former Holmes standout Ricardo Johnson to get more minutes as a sophomore after getting about 11 minutes a game last year @ Ohio U. The Bobcats lost 2 of their top 5 scorers to graduation.

Looks like former Holmes star Elijah Pittman will get another chance to straighten his life out in Texas after his problems @ Chipola in Florida. Will Pike have the necessary academic requirements to allow him to graduate early? If so he could start college in January of 2012 like a lot of the big college programs are doing with big recruits these days?

The only bad thing about the Sweet 16, the format. Seeding would make for a better championship game imo, but how would you do it?

Whoever wins it should make for a very uneventful championship game this evening with the weak lower bracket winner probably having to slow it down to win.

As good as Brandon Hatton is I think that people are seeing that he will struggle to guard at the next level. He is just not quick enough.
