EZ Living
All Christian Co. in this one. Shelby Valley with over 35 turnovers.
King James
This score doesn't come as a surprise. Shelby Valley lost the top eight players from last year, and this team wasn't expected to be here. Good defense and timely shooting got them through the 15th region tournament, but you don't see pressure like this in the 15th. Hopefully a more competitive Shelby Valley will return to Rupp in the future... An 83-40 loss isn't a good thing, but for this team this season has to be considered a huge success... Voice of Reason
This bracket is loaded. GRC vs Eastern and Christian Co. vs. Dixie/LexCath. If Lex Cath wins that game, CC vs. Lex Cath might be 100-99.
Ranger
Over half of SV's roster is 8th or 9th Graders, wow, no wonder they looked so young. Most photogenic player of the day; Hickey from Christian Co.
jahearme
Who did SV beat in their regional finals???
AndOneDad
SV was just outmatched but they'll be back, great young talent. Christian Co. will be a very tough out for either Eastern or GRC.
Clyde
Let me applaud the youngsters for SV. It was literally boys against men. I must ask though. Is this the weakest S16 team we've seen?
All Blue
Who did SV beat in their regional finals??? Pikeville
Clyde
CC had 21 points in about the first 4 or 5 minutes. SV crossed 20 sometime mid- to late-3rd qtr.
Waldo
Pikeville Must have been one weak region!
All Blue
Must have been one weak region! Not sure but I think they were even runner up in their district.
Mustang
Shelby Valley lost to Pikeville in the 15th Region "A" by 20, who then lost to Betsy Layne by 12. Betsy Layne went on to win the "A" State this year. They lost by 6 points to Pikeville in their district championship game, and then came back to beat Pikeville in the regional finals by 7. Nice turnaround from the 20 point earlier season loss to Pikeville, but no match for Christian County.
The Professor
Must have been one weak region! Betsy Layne, who won the All A Sate Tournament, was the most likely choice to win the 15th but was upset in the semi's. The Bobcats might have given Christian County a little more competition than Shelby Valley but they would have lost big too.
JokersWild24
If I'm not mistaken, their run through the regional tournament was Shelby Valley's first three game winning streak of the year.
fullcourt
If I'm not mistaken, their run through the regional tournament was Shelby Valley's first three game winning streak of the year. You're probably right, the way I figure it, they could have only won 9 games the entire regular season before districts started.
