Nice win by Boyle- seems like they're starting to play some of their better ball of the year. Balanced production from several players is always good. Coach Adams seems to get it done every year.

Speaking of Hunter Renfro-- What a game by that kid in the national championship.

Jake Johnson was an honor to watch for four years helping Pulaski County accomplish a State Championship appearance every year putting Pulaski on the map for years to come. I think the State Finals proved how vital he was to the success of this years team and any questions people may of had should've been answered with his senior campaign. There's no wrong choice as all are deserving candidates. Congrats to all on being nominated.

Cooper is such a fundamentally sound team.

Mercer County has not played out of region opponents very well-- at least the ones expected to give them a good game. With the addition of Stotts though Adair has a very respectable team. Possibly the favorite in the 5th especially with NH not having Young right now.

It looked like a knee to knee collision.. Hopefully nothing more than that. I was impressed with Cooper and his play.

When I hear resume, just wondering, what people would think. SW is a tough team and I expect them to continue to play at a top 20 level all season. I thought they should've been there in the preseason. Pulaski is still growing each game with a new coaching staff. They came back after a loss to LCA and beat a very solid Oakland TN team. .. Seems like someone different has been out every game. Hopefully that changes sooner than later. Team has a lot of potential/talent to work with though.

No. Danny Butt did not play. He went down in the game yesterday. I think he expects to miss a few games. Pulaski has played only a few games all season with everyone available. Need to obviously improve defense, offense shouldn't be a problem. Hopefully time can cure that.

He was sick a few days but I heard he had a sprained wrist. So he was missing games because of it.

With the talent BG has I figured it would a closer score.. It looks like Lee (the team who lost to Dunbar) played Berkmar pretty close.

Al Durham for Berkmar has committed to play for Indiana next year.

BG should get another nice test from the team from Georgia tomorrow The 7th region is going to be another war.

Very capable of being top 20 but an undefeated start thus far shouldn't be a surprise. I think they beat Lawrence Co today.

Does not get much better than this. He's a great player to watch and if you haven't got the chance to do so and the opportunity is there I wouldn't pass it up.

Great job Purple88 All fantastic candidates.. Could not go wrong with any of them. According to KHSAA Johnson had 9 INT for 2 TD's also- he's not an every down defensive player. Had a huge pick 6 against South Oldham. Pretty cool to max out all 15 games every year too in which he started each especially at a school that had NEVER reached a State Finals game before his freshman year.

Disagree completely. Do not think BG would've "inevitably" dominated regardless of Pulaski losing Johnson & Hopkins, not to mention their leading tackler Maxey. I'm not throwing excuses out as BG was the better team. Pulaski dresses 50 or so compared to around 100 to BG- depth is an issue from the start. When you lose your Mr Football candidate who proved that he could change the game, Pulaski is no where near the same team. BG didn't have to even worry about Johnson in the 2nd half and now became forced to use some defensive guys on offense. Like I say BG is a great team but Pulaski just was not there going into the 4th qtr mentally showing by two special teams lapses. That was easy to see and not a knock on BG at all. As I said, their depth was a huge advantage and would've likely carried them through regardless. They were a great team and no doubt the best in 5A. Pulaski played down for down with BG in the 1st half accumulating more 1st half yards with a balanced attack.
