Mayfield 38 Beechwood 14
In my opinion, if this kid has a little bit of room to move no one can catch him. He has a great ability to stop, cut, and juke, and get right back up to full speed better than anyone I have seen in NKY in a while. Unfortunately, at 5' 8" and maybe 160 lbs., he cannot bust through a crowded line very well.

BTW, congrats Mayfield, and good luck next week.

The Athletic Boosters sell the reserved seats for $40.00 a season which included the admission to the game. That was how it was in previous years, I do not know about this year. And usually, it was just for the regular season, now I see the seats were being sold during the week for $8.00 for last night's game. I personally do not like it, not because I am a cheapskate, I just think it should be first come, first serve like most other schools.

Mayfield 38 Beechwood 14
Mayfield was obviously the better team. Beechwood had way to many mistakes like all season. As for the Beechwood run defense I was impressed they need alot of work on thier pass defense and definetly the passing game. I feel MAx Nussbaum is the overall best player on Beechwood. He can run, block, tackle, and catch. Pretty special player. The dline and linebackers held the run game and if they can improve pass defense and the offense next year should be pretty good.

Covington Catholic/Johnson Central Predictions
If JC's secondary struggles with a good passing team, then Cov Cath should win this game. The Colonels completed just about every one of thier attempts against Ashland Blazer this weekend.

Beechwood 49 Brossart 0
All I am saying is; everyone knows what Vocke can do, especially against the weaker district opponents. You are correct he had six carries. beechwood starts every game the same, run Vocke, he makes big plays, and then they throw in some passing. This predictability of this team is going to hurt them against New Cath in a couple of weeks, and later in the playoffs. Why not start with Erdman, Nussbaum, and Staten in the running game a bit. BTW, the second half was just that, second string players. Not an option when your trying to win a close battle football game.

Mustangs keep your head's up, and don't get discouaged. It was obvious that you guys did not have a good game last night, but if you think about it, most of the big yard plays come off Cameron Vocke. Vocke was able to do this from all of the missed tackles. I am not taking anything away from Vocke, he is the best in No. Ky. when it comes to cut's, and juke's, and his break-away speed. However, he is not the only weapon, the Tigers have a strong backfield. The other kids may not be able to break open a 70 yard run, but they are able to get yardage. I do not know why the coaches do not use this option more, especially in the easier, in district games. Also, do not be afraid of having to move up to Class 2A next year. The only real difference will be New Cath replacing Beechwood for the really tough game, and a big challenge from Holy X.

Beechwood 55 Walton Verona 20
FITS, did you not see or hear about the Cov Cath Beechwood game from the week before? BW had the game and let it slip out from under them. The tigers were not even suppose to keep the game close. New Cath is the clear favorite just like Cov cath was. You should really think before making statements like that.

Beechwood vs Walton Verona
Very true. Just when the competition starts to get interesting in NKY 1A, now rumor has it that WV will have to move up to 2A next year.

What is going on at Conner?
As much as I hate to defend uk#1fan, a lot of people said the run Sk was having would be over when Miles Simpson left. True that they are not as good as last year, but they are still a major contender for NKY 6A. Still a lot of good things to come in Independence.

Beechwood vs Walton Verona
No way! For starters, WV is a little better than that, and secondly, I do not think Coach Rash would let the score get that high. I realize it has happened before with the likes of Brossart when they were just getting started, and Ludlow, or Dayton, but I think WV is at a higher level than those games.

Scott High Freshman - turning the corner?
Clyde, maybe I should not speak for The Big Coach, but maybe getting the new field could bring some excitement into some other kids wanting to play.

Not only Corbin, but what happened to Ft. Campbell? I know that I have been away for a while and sometimes don't keep track on the teams down west as much as I should, but the last few years they were the dominant force in 2 A.

Simon Kenton/Conner Predictions
I predict Conner will be ready to play this week. I'm sure SK will score often on the Cougar's D, but I also see the Cougar's scoring alot also. Should be a good game.

Highlands/Beechwood Predictions
For starters, I always thought that Highlands had trouble getting local schools to play them. When this two year agreement was made, Beechwood was having great success throughout this decade, especially winning state championship's in 07, and 08. The tigers had a lot of injuries at the start of the season last year, and some of those injuries ended some key players careers this year. As everyone knows in Class A program that can be devastating. Good luck to both teams without any injuries.

The season is still a long way from starting. I think it is great to be able to watch High School football a little early, December was so long ago.

Beechwood/Newport Catholic Predictions (4/16 9th Region All A Championship)
This young Beechwood team has gotten better since the beginning of the year. Thier pitching along with hitting have both improved and their defense is always good.
