was looking at upcoming opponents and I notice that Scott High Freshman team is 2-1 with wins over NCC (14-7) and Holy Cross (21-2). Their loss was to SK (13-21). With all this talk about Scott in other threads I have to wonder if things are looking up on Old Taylor Mill Rd.

Scott's freshman team plays Beechwood this Thursday so that will be another good test for them. NewCath always has a good freshman team, although they are a little lower than normal in numbers this year. If Scott beat them, then they have a solid freshman team.

I personally know the Freshman head coach and he is doing a fantastic job. He was an assistant last year at Dayton but left and is doing fantastic job. I believe he is 22 or 23 but is a very football smart guy and knows how to get kids to play hard for him. Keep up the good work!

Who is the freshman coach? Who are some of the better players in this group? I remember the Woodland teams being weak, historically, but heard they had a new FB coach at the MS.

I have no problem with their schedule. The #1 challenge at Scott is getting positive mojo going in regards to football. Kids don't care who is across the line of scrimmage. If they win they'll feel good(as they should). If they feel good they'll come back and it will snowball.

Congrats to Scott!! Glad to see them turning the ship around! Who is the coach? Let's give him some props!

This Freshman team is very talented. Big and physical. Line play is a little rough around the edges buy once they smooth out those edges, look out. Gonna be fun to watch over the next 3 + years.

Clyde, maybe I should not speak for The Big Coach, but maybe getting the new field could bring some excitement into some other kids wanting to play.

Scott Frosh and Beechwood Frosh should be a good game with the Beechwood coming off a big win over Boone Co. I heard Beechwood has 7th and 8th graders starting on the Frosh team. Is it true? Do other Frosh programs do this? Beechwood does not have a middle school and I believe they rely on the Pee Wee programs as their feeder system. Any insight to this?

Beechwood does have a few 7/8th graders starting. QB is a 7th and is coming along nicely. There are 8th graders on the line and linebacking core. Most players do come from the spartans but there are a several kids that don't start playing football till 8th/9th grade that actually have turned to be major contributors (Ryan Amelung). Some would say they rely on the Boone County Pee Wee Football league as well. :sssh:
