  1. Has Dixie shown enough at this point to be recognized in the state 1-20 rankings?
  2. Congratulations to Dixie now 10-0! This was a very exciting game and both teams played well. Smith seemed to score at will but Dixe just had too much fire power with probably 6 players in double figures. The refs were calling a lot of ticky tac fouls especially when Smith drove to the basket. Don't get me wrong, he played well but this prevented Dixie players from bodying him up.
  3. Good grief..was either side playing defense????
  4. I think Pike has made leaps and bounds in the maturity category. He got frustrated as any competitive athlete would when you are on the receiving end of the whistle 3 straight trips up the floor. He has done a pretty darn good job keeping himself in check and I think that was pretty evident when facing the Connor and Highlands student sections. There were some pretty nasty things being yelled at him.
  5. Go Mason County...win and represent Kentucky well...enjoy the weather...because our weather stinks!!!
  6. Pike is an awesome player, however he needs to keep his head if Dixie is going to make a valid run at regionals. Can't let emotions get the best of you!!
  7. It is great to see Trammel getting back to his true form after his injury! Dixie's guard play has the ability to step up when the big men are in trouble. Dixie is now 7-0...the target is on their backs!
  8. Dixie is strong this year, but I can't agree anymore about needing an answer for Holmes. I believe if Dixie can get scoring from everyone they can pull it out.
  9. Chris is a very solid PG that can definitely get to the rim and score. The only flaw that I see thus far is his lack of assists..3, 2, 1 averaging 2 per game. To be considered the best all around, I think he needs to distribute the ball better. Again, there is no doubt he can score and play aggressive D.
  10. I didn't think Dixie played that bad against Colerain. Colerain is a very athletic team that pressed Dixie the entire game and played a pretty good 3-2 zone which forced Dixie to shoot outside. Dixie struggled at the free throw line or the spread would have looked much differently. Kudos to Dixie who are now 5-0, this could be their year!
  11. 2010 Holiday Preseason Showcase 8:30 a.m. Model v Bath Co 9:40 Green Co v Harrison Co 10:50 Adair Co v Whitley Co 12:00 Letcher Co v Dixie Heights 1:10 7th State MS (G) 2:20 8th State MS (G) 3:30 Marion Co v Anderson Co (G) 4:40 Henderson Co v Harlan Co 5:50 Johnson Central v Meade Co 7:00 Leslie Co v Larue Co 8:10 Hazard v East Jessamine 9:30 Frankfort v Pendleton Co
  12. Just heard that Kevon Rice has enrolled at Dixie and will be playing basketball if ruled eligible
  13. You rank Trammell because he had a great summer season. I think he will bring more this season than anyone expects.
  14. He is much quicker than Hatton and can get to the basket. Hatton is a great shooter if left alone but Trammel is better off of the bounce and can play better defense. Hatton is only an 8th grader...so who knows how much better he can become. The sky is the limit with him!
  15. Okay, you just named the best 5 big men next year! Tell me who is a better point guard?
  16. Where does Matt Trammel rank in the mix. He just had minor back surgery but is expected to be back before districts. This is a kid that averaged 9 points for dixie as a sophomore and started the year with a 24 point game. If everything heels correctly from his surgery and he is 100%, I believe he is the #1 player in the region in next year senior class
  17. Id like to see where Trammel would be this far in the season. I got to watch him play agianst SK and he had 24 i think. If hes doin that with a bad back, how good is he healthy? Sad to see a player go down for a whole season especially one of this caliber.
  18. It doesn't appear that either team goes very deep...LCA with only 5 players scoring and Tates Creek with 6.
  19. I dont like Dixie's style of play. I think an open post look would have them winning more games. They are now 1-4 i think? Theirs a lot of talent on this team and if they get things flowing Dixie can dangerous! :sssh:
  20. ^^I think everyone expects a happy medium....I would have been happy if they had missed a few.
  21. The officiating was absolutely ridiculous for both sides. There was no problem with either team's defense. The Ninth Region officiating is becoming a joke among the surrounding regions. When these teams go to other regions they get the crap beat out of them physically because they are expecting the whistle to blow because there was some contact. You have got to let them play with some physical content. When a game is determined by free throw count...something needs to be re-evaluated. It was a free throw contest last night not a basketball game with NCC being the winner.
  22. Smith will be a senior this year
  23. Should be an interesting year for the Heights. Losing Pompilio will hurt but look for Pike an Trammel to have a big year! Trammel is a fun kid to watch and can simply take over and pike can just flat out score.
  24. The NKY Bulldogs played tough in the tournament. I really thought the kids that played some varsity time this past season; Stauffer from Ryle, Trammel from Dixie and Hodges from Conner carried this team. I look forward to watching these 3 play this coming season in the 9th region!
