Final from the Championship game of the Kenton Co. Classic.

Dixie may very well be 19-0 by the time they face the Holmes Bulldogs. Coach Chevy has to be liking what his red Colonels are doing so far.

Actually played at Simon Kenton.

Congratulations to Dixie now 10-0! This was a very exciting game and both teams played well. Smith seemed to score at will but Dixe just had too much fire power with probably 6 players in double figures. The refs were calling a lot of ticky tac fouls especially when Smith drove to the basket. Don't get me wrong, he played well but this prevented Dixie players from bodying him up.

Dixie fights through a lot of foul trouble with 4 starters (Hatton, Trammel, Hassel, and Pike) all seeing bench time.... Pike ended up fouling out.

 

Stansberry led the C's with a really big night scoring and rebounding.

 

Hatton and Trammel were also double digit scorers tonight. Hatton seeing a lot of double team traps.

 

Cohorn and Muntis came off the bench and stepped up big time....

 

The Eagles have a nice core of guards that can shoot and penetrate....just need some more post players.

Thanks for the correction, 3 different venues for this tournament, I got a tad confused. :lol:

I heard all five starters for Dixie scored double figures and Cohorn also did off the bench. Also heard Smith for Scott had alot of points from the line tonight. Anybody have the official box score for each team?

Dixie showed why they are the best team in the 9th. They got contributions from everyone that played and can really get up and down the floor.

Tough to say. They've put on a show in Northern Kentucky. But they've also yet to play a team in the top 20, or even on the outskirts of it.

Agreed...but Mason County is ranked in the top 20 and hasn't faired well as of late. I just think Northern Kentucky teams do not get the recognition they deserve. Cov Cath could be another argument for the same cause.

Maybe if they have a good showing down at Scott County against Western.

Dixie nets 12 more FTs than Scott which seems to be the difference. Nice games by Stansberry and Smith respectfully as well as a nice job by the Colonel bench.
