So my time is not worth anymore, though you are asking me to increase my days, my work load, add more nights onto my schedule taking from my family as well. Remember your words the next time you want a raise from your employer. I hope he replies to you...we need you to work every weekend and maybe some nights, since you already get paid year round that should be payment enough. Most districts only pay teachers for 180 days of service and drag those payments out over 26 pay checks. Take what you would make in 180 days and spread it over 26 pay checks. Are you going to survive on that? Most of us have summer jobs so that we can pay into social security since the state does not afford us that option.

As an educator, I do believe their needs to be some restructuing in the schools. However, this will prove to be futile if the parents are not held accountable for the student's attendance. Some want to blame teachers for the lack of productivity they get from their students. But when it comes to your child's education you have to be held accountable as well. We get no support from several parents. It is our fault Johnny falls asleep in class, it is our fault Johnny is continuously rude, disrespectful and disruptive. Maybe other countries are surpassing us because they have been taught discipline, respect for others as well as themselves, and accountability. Something that seems to be lost on parenting skills in today's society.

Really??? This is America why would a reference to Indians make you automatically assume India? My grandfather who by the way was Indian would have been offended by that remark. We are talking about mascots not nicknames. My son played for the Turkeyfoot Indians and the few games my grandfather got to watch, he was flattered. I think the race thing is way off base. If that is the case I'm sure we should all have cause to be upset and offended by every mascot ever named. Along the history of the inception of mascots how many times has the reference been made to white or black? I guess if we had common views on this my suggestion would be to do away with mascots altogether....no one culture, special interest group, race, religious affiliation, athiest, etc.. would have the forum to be offended. This is the problem with this country...we all take ourselves waaayyy to seriously and we don't take the true injustices seriously enough.

What is so offensive about a mascot being an Indian??? Maybe we should remove all inferences to all groups Spartans, Vikings, Raiders, etc... I feel that the mascot is an expression of what you believe your team to be. To me an Indian is an expression of a proud culture, that believes in tradition and values.....nothing wrong with that!!!! As far as the name of the school...Leave it alone as well.

Should be an interesting year for the Heights. Losing Pompilio will hurt but look for Pike an Trammel to have a big year! Trammel is a fun kid to watch and can simply take over and pike can just flat out score.

The NKY Bulldogs played tough in the tournament. I really thought the kids that played some varsity time this past season; Stauffer from Ryle, Trammel from Dixie and Hodges from Conner carried this team. I look forward to watching these 3 play this coming season in the 9th region!

I'm not sure what happened but the NKY Bulldogs were within 4 at the half and then benched their best player #5 for most of the second half???

I do agree with Trammel being in the running. But with pompilio (sp?) leaving wont he become more of a scorer? Everyone thinks that dixie will be a good team next year but its tough to replace someone that can play like him!

No, Brandon Hatten strictly plays JV and Varsity as a 7th grader. He does not play middle school ball or Freshman ball.

Dixie beating Cov. Cath by 20 tonight and St. Henry losing by 20 favors well for Dixie to win the District.

Congratulations Dixie for a great win. The game was close at the end of the 3rd quarter and Dixie went on a big run. We have Cooper on Tuesday and Boone Co. on Fiday. Let's win 2 more going into the Districts.

State governments should be taking care of that and not federal.
