  2. You seem to be knowledgeable on this subject, so here is a scenario for your opinions (other feedback of course welcomed) Kid in 10th grade, played JV football, DID play a couple min here and there of Varsity. Played JV baseball. He just turned 15, 5 days before 10th grade and he wants to hold hisself back. (I'm not letting him make the decision, but surprisingly he sat down like an attorney with things he had contemplated). So question is, we were told that we, the parents, can not hold him back. Sooo if he failed his 10th grade year and did not earn enough credits to be considered an 11th grader then what? Does it matter at all if they played JV or V in this whole process? Did those few minutes of 2 V games he play change anything? Q - he could fail himself, then he would have to not play ANY sports next year?? Also, could he redshirt at all, still practice but not play. On another side of things...if a 3.9 GPA, 1st half of year, fails the last half, and ultimately failing the year....how will this look to colleges. When he repeats the grade is it like college and the new grade overrides the old one??? ANY and all feedback is helpful....I don't want to let my son make a mistake. Part of it is sports but more of it is maturity level and in his mind competing on a level w/ kids his own age not that are a year to TWO years ahead of him. Now what if he chooses to move out of state, how does that work? Do most states have the same laws on this? Thank you all greatly for your detailed input.
  3. NO. He is older than the main sophmore peer group. Good kid, but when he was in 8th grade it was kind of silly when the paper would say EIGHT grader Robbie Stenzel did this or that... I'm glad for the most part it has died down, but there was alot of laughing behind the back on that one.
  4. Thomas didn't practice today but Williams did.

  6. I read this article. I don't think QB Barnes came in the game until the end. It was either him or QB Menchen that came in, not sure which one. Possibly Barnes by how well the run was. But Dini is the QB for the Cardinals who dove in from the 1-yard line. It says Barnes in all the stats, but Dini earned these stats. The Cardinals’ star linebacker Robbie Hisle intercepted a Wooldridge pass to set up a Cardinal score at the 10;32 mark of the 3rd quarter as QB Mykal Barnes dove in from the 1-yard line. The point after was blocked by the Warrior D-line. The D-line and the rest of the Warrior defense would stiffen as they shut down the potent Cardinal offense the remainder of the game. Mote would score his second TD of the game at the 5:46 mark of the 3rd quarter on a 66-yard run through the right side to widen the lead to 21-13 after a Wright point after. It was all Warriors in the 4th quarter as the defense again stepped up as defensive tackle Fowler caused a bad pitch from the Cardinal QB Barnes and the ball squirted out of the endzone for a safety. At the 1:55 mark of the 4th quarter Warriors' defensive back Blake Tuttle picked off a Barnes pass that set up the final score of the game. GRC: Williams 52-yard run (Moody kick) SW: White 72-yard pass from Wooldridge (Wright kick) SW: Mote 2-yard run (Wright kick) GRC: Barnes 1-yard run )kick blocked) SW: Mote 66-yard run (Wright kick) SW: safety SW: Mitchell 13-yard pass from Wooldridge (Wright) Rushing: SW(242 total yards) - Mote 21-139 yards 2 TDs, King 19-62 yards; GRC(129) - Williams 17-99 yards TD, Barnes 4-6 yards TD Passing: SW - Wooldridge 7-17-1 172 yards 2 TDs; GRC - Barnes 5-22-2 48 yards. Receiving: SW - Mitchell 3-74 yards TD, White 1-71 yards TD; GRC: Thomas 2-20
  7. I am a Cards fan thru and thru, but I have to give credit where credit is due... The Warriors' QB looked great. Noticed how accurate his throws were. Good job to that QB and his team. Clark coaches....let's try something different. Giving Williams the ball ALL the time is not a great idea. Shake it up a little. You got more players involved the last home game and looked how well it worked. According to the article in the paper this week...Williams AND Thomas left with high ankle sprains. Not good!!!!
  8. Are you serious. I personally don't think someone should be voted for game of the week when they only have a good game here and there....very far inbetween. This week 11 attempts, 36 yards, 2 interceptions He is a player that is continuing to grow since he is only a sophomore, but game of the week player???? Not with you on this one.
  9. First String Media has done a great job of doing the highlights that is on the Winchester Sun website. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KvhdomJD6Us
  10. He is an already proven player...Just ask Kentucky!!
  11. Williams 180 yards on the ground. He come out of the game really early due to not wanting to run the score up or he would have gotten alot more. This is not a game to really base stats on. Williams is going to get great stats regardless due to his amazing abilities on the field. So excluding Williams, other stats made by others in this game were not that really hard to come by. The difficulty level was not high. Nice to have a win, but I'm not a fan who gets all excited over meaningless games. Anybody can beat up on a lesser openent, lets see what the team is made of when it faces better competition.
  12. GRC takes this one!! Senior night, our boys will play hard!! Thank you to all of our seniors who worked hard to support our football team!!
  13. I always thought it was the quarterback. You can't be 1/13 and expect to win. He locks up when pressure is put on him. Last night he could have ran 2 or 3 yards for the 1st down and decided to throw another incompleted pass instead. I know he's only a sophmore but that was the coaches choice to use him. Their are other players who could play that position and not get scared and lock up whenever someone comes at you. Bottom line: He's scared to take a hit and it shows when he is under pressure. Williams can't carry the entire team. He has to be able to depend on his QB to take some pressure off of him and give him a break.
  14. How is Dini doing? They said that he had to come out of the game Friday from being hit so hard and that when his teammates tried to talk to him he was just sitting there in a daze. Is he Ok? What about Williams? How is he doing? Are there even more injuries? I missed last week.
  15. Of course Williams is a great asset to the team, but I really hope he doesn't play Friday. I would much rather see him wait until he is 100%. I"m sure the coaches will look out for his best interest.
  16. I disagree.........Never saw a post like this when we were 4-0. Coaching staff is fine.:thumb: I think ALOT of people were calling for a coaching change pre season but quiet down when GRC was winning. I too think their should be a change, but not so much in getting rid of PC...this man is very intelligent about the game and has alot to offer the players. On the other side of that coin, just because you know the game dont mean you can teach/coach it. I just feel a change that would be a win/win for both would be to get PC some help and for PC to accept that help.
  17. Dini threw an interception in the 1st Q of the game. They rotated in Skinner at QB and he threw an interception in the 1st half. It was 6 - 6 @ the half and 13 @ 13 in the 3rd. A HUGE fumble was on a kick off return. #20 got hit pretty hard causing the football to pop out & so close to the endzone causing a HC TD. That was the 2nd TD in a 3 in a row set. It happened to of been #20 receiving the ball, but that could of happened to anybody considering the lack of blocking that was involved for him. Then we finally get the ball back and the 1st pass Dini throws is yet another interception, which resulted in the 3rd HC TD in a row. It was hard to believe that pretty much all of that happened in the 4th quarter. It was terrible to sit there and watch our team just quit on themselves.
  18. New picture/icon Gold? Nice!!
  19. That could go either way...Will HC be on a mission to shut down their former player?? I hope GRC pulls out the win. I believe it might be a fairly close game. I was told that HC JV team got the win earlier this wk right on the buzzer. I bet that was a nail biter. I hope this game isn't that close. I don't know if I can handle another close one after the MC game.
  20. There IS support for ALL the players. But this IS football, it WILL be talked about, hence the reason for the forum in general.
  21. I hope so as well. I hope they come back stronger than ever. Also, does anyone know who number 13 is? It seemed like he struggled out there during the MC game.
