  1. Anybody know when Danville High scrimmages this year?
  2. They hired Brandon Cooper. Special Ed teacher from SW Pulaski
  3. Left two teams out, dont count out LCA with Barnette and a lot of great shooters to go along with him. Inside presence will be key.
  4. The center to Scott Co. thing is a pure joke. Too bad Scott Co. didn't agree to same transfer stuff as the Lexington schools that they are in the 11th Region with. Word is he may still head back to NY...depends on his mother's job status. For some reason, I think she will find a job in Georgetown. As for Sayre's team next season, they will be tough. They are scrappy and quick. Along with Mike Smith, they have Cabot Haggin and a few other gritty guards. They also have a big PF that started for them last year. Admittedly, their district and region are tough but they will compete to the end.
  5. USC - PAC-10 LOU - Big East Also, did Justice get a scholarship or is he a preferred walk-on?
  6. This was Daniel Kiesling from Henry Clay and formerly of the KY ICE AAU team. He is strong and is getting small college looks.
  7. The Truth had all those players quit after pool play last year when parents found out they were in a 16U group. 2 were juniors and 1 senior. The comment about who cares at the 15 and up level is that there are rules. It's nice when all play by them. Be better.
  8. Just check Sheehan's roster. The Truth used 3 illegal players last year in the state tournament. Also, don't sleep on The Royal Family. They are tough and they have Jackson from Iroquois. Fucci will be a huge addition to SSS-Davis. Shotwell and Gilbert have things working well on DSAS/Truth as well. It should be a fun weekend for sure...wish we still had the boys together!
  9. Redd did resign, correct. I know that because I know multiple players that quit the team and others that passed along that information. It's not rumor. Coach Yeary will do a great job and the admin did a great job on the hire.
  10. I believe it was a mutual decision and it might have even resigned if I recall correctly. Players were quitting and coaches were consistently late to practice. It seemed as if players and coaches had given up in some ways. Coach Yeary will do an excellent job and has already put together a solid staff around him. Dunbar should be back in the 11th region conversation within 2-3 years.
  11. Yea, that's typically how things work. Coach Yeary knows his stuff like very few. He is a great motivator, great X's and O's guy and will be perfect for this position. I'd say the AD and Admin had a year to get to know and were able to make a wise choice. It was probably hard to pass up all the assistants that have applied for every head job in the state but they made the right choice. It will take some time to turn Dunbar around but it will happen and then you will have a "big time" and "quality" coach at Dunbar.
  12. I love how just because you so called experts don't know who he is than he must not be a "quality," "big-time", "serious" coach. Ask the people that have coached with Justin Yeary and you will see this was a great hire for Dunbar.
  13. Gilbert is playing with the SSS-DSAS team according to his dad.
  14. For the record, Coach Huston was an architect of the 2-2-1 with Coach Haney.
  15. Tough answer. He can play D1 in either sport if he wants to - there are offers in both sports for him. We will see what he decides to do...
  16. Witt, Hayden and Burdette were ridiculous. The Mayfield bunch, no so much. Line play was great, but those three were the best three players on the field.
  17. After a lot of boasting from other teams, I think we now know who had the best skill players in Class A.
  18. The team that is way overrated is Lafayette. Coldiron hasn't changed a thing over there except to cut seniors that have worked for 3 years. There is no offense to speak of and I wouldn't be surprised if they fall way below expectations.
  19. Based on what Tates Creek students and basketball players have said, he is enrolled and in the hallways and classrooms or Tates Creek. He hasn't been seen at an open gym so there's not much word on his skill - but he is a big boy.
  20. By reading Jody's article, a few college coaches must think he has improved a lot. Evans is an outstanding player and I agree that he is in the top ten. I believe there were other players that were "not even close to the top 10" mentioned in this thread, why pick one player out, I don't understand your motive sometimes. I responded to a quote and that is why I picked one player. I guess I could have responded to a quote yet left it ambiguous as to my reference but that wouldn't have made much sense to anyone. I have watched and coached against Flannery since he was in the 4th grade. He is a great shooter, a great player and he has improved a ton - not denying any of that. We are discussing the top 10 players in the region and I don't think he is one of them. I think there are 4 guys on his team that are ahead of him on top anything list of the 11th region.
  21. Flannery has improved but not close to the top 10 in the 11th. Evans should probably be in the top 10 discussion. This might be an easier discussion by class...
