Prep Basketball: Garrard boys coach Sizemore resigns after one season

 

Assistant principal and athletic director Kalem Grasham confirmed Monday that Sizemore has resigned amid speculation that he will soon be named the coach at his alma mater, South Laurel.

Sizemore went 10-18 in his only season at Garrard, which was also his first season as a head coach, and Grasham said the school is grateful for what he did even though he is leaving far sooner than expected.

 

Meanwhile, Sizemore coached the Golden Lions through June. Grasham said his last open gym was scheduled for Friday, the day he submitted his resignation.

“He had an opportunity to tell the kids good-bye, and he got emotional. Those kids mean a lot to him,” Grasham said.

One of the Garrard players has been heard saying that they replied Sizemore immediately but I have yet to hear an announcement. He stated that no one knows of th replacement but that they have one. That is what I was told that came from one of their players. GCHS_UK may have more info on this hearsay.
