New D coordinator. Bellevue linebackers just don't seem to be getting it done up the middle. I didn't think graduation would hurt them as much as it did. Offensively it didn't but defensively they just don't seem to want to wrap up and make a tackle this year. They all want to put the shoulder in and try to knock them down. Good week for the old form tackling drill being they have an off date this week. The 4 teams they have played so far, ( HC, Newport, Holmes, and Scott), have all had real good QB that are very strong runners. This has proven to be the week spot for their D this year. They seem to be doing a OK job of contain they just seem to lose track of the QB and they are hitting hard on the fake.

I think this will be a great game. I'll take CCH to pull it out in the 4 th. They won't give the game away the way I hear Beechwood's last opponent did. This will be two schools with great football tradition looking to get on a winning streak. Both teams are showing improvement and I look for that to continue. Haven't seen Erpenbeck this year but when it comes to a running QB Walker is the real deal. Looking forward to seeing this one. CCH 31 Beechwood 21

Scott is strictly a one dimensional team. You take Sowder off that team and this game isn't even close. I keep reading that Scott needs to play all 4 quarters. I don't think they ever quit playing they took the lead with like three minutes left in the game. The heart is there. I just don't think the overall talent is. Wills and his receivers did an excellent job in the two minute drill. Looked great. As far as Bellevue being a big player in the District this year, if and only if they improve their Defense will they be a factor this year. A mobile quarterback seems to be the Achilles heel for Bellevue this year. As one dimensional as Scott was Bellevue couldn't stop them. Seemed like Sowder ran that quarter back draw right up the middle all night. Everyone in the stadium knew it was coming but they couldn't stop it. Beechwood is still King of the Hill. Coming in second is not good enough. Coming in second is just another way of saying loser. I'm sure with the off week this week the coaching staff will get the Defense straightened out and ready for a District run.

Richard Wills, Bellevues quarterback, steps up big time in connecting with Alex Hegge and others in the last drive of the game to pull out the win. Very impressed with the composure he showed. If he can continue this type of play Bellevue offense will be very potent the rest of the year.

From the outside looking in! Although I agree that the coaching staff is the best around and that the players have more dedication than any other school around, I think it is an entire community thing. The suport the school as a whole and the football team imparticular gets is unparralled anywhere for that size of a community that HHS has.

If you think this is your best chance for a win, it might be a long season for Scott. A win or a loss and it still a long season.

As far as not being accurate. You might want to think your post through before you submit it. You stated that they couldn't score any more then turn around and state how they can. No need to all frazzled your Red and White tigers will be one of the top Class A teams in the state before it is all said and done. You have to play the best to be the best and thats what they strive to do.

VOR your not paying attention to your own name. I wasn't at the game. However I had several friends at the game that said exactly what you just stated. If they had left their first team in They could have scored as many as they wanted. Well if they wanted to score more then they would have left the first team in. Only stands to Reason.

Be realistic Highlands could have scored as much as they wanted? Beechwoods D needs to come ready to play better than they have the previous two games. That being said with the tradition and coaching they have I fully expect that will be the case.

You might want to wait until after the game before you go beating on the mighty Beechwood Chest. Tradition and all Beechwood has to be banged up a little to be so cocky about this game.

Have you seen them play or just going on past reputations?

I think Holy Cross has the better team. That being said the better team doesn't always win the game. Beechwood is a team looking to prove they are still one of the top teams in NKY. Holy cross has played two class A team that aren't up to Beechwood caliber this early in the season. I think Beechwood comes out and plays hard and makes it a close game but Holy Cross is to good in the end and pulls it out. Holy Cross 31 Beechwood 24

Why? Did you just pick the score out of a hat or do you have some thoughts on how Scott will score 34 and hold Bellevue to 13?

Homes played very well. The Tigers shot themselves in the foot too many times. Couldn't capitalize in red zone, fumbles, penalties, etc.. Good game by both teams best of luck the rest of the season .

I think there is a place for each of the leagues. Ft. Thomas is a great instructional league. NKYFL is more of a competitive league. The Junior High team do a great job of getting the numbers out. Boone Cty is a combination of the above. No matter what league their purpose should be to get the players ready for the high school teams. Not necessary each individual high school but to teach basics and get kids excited about playing football. VOR how many kids does Beechwood have from the Ft. Thomas league this year?

SK - 28 Dixie - 14 IMO Dixie's offense is dependent on the quarterback . I think SK offense is fine with or without Miles. Wouldn't surprise me to see Dixie pull it out though.

FC you have some very valid points. The biggest area of concern for me is the special teams. I would think after looking at the films the Bellevue coaches would make some changes in personnel on special teams to go against a team of Holmes caliber. In a small school the talent level falls way off after the first 13-15 guys. I think the coaching staff was comfortable enough in thinking that they could handle Newport that they tried to give some of the other guys a little reward for practicing hard with playing time. If Bellevue is to be serious about winning this game then they will have to put in the first tear players on special teams. I think your right as far as the offense not out running anyone on this very athletic Holmes team. If you were at the game when Bellevue played Holy Cross, Bellevue actually drove the ball right down the field their first possession of the game. They didn't do anything fancy and didn't really run outside. If they are to have a chance against a faster team in Holmes they will have to run good old fashion Bellevue football and that is 3 downs and a cloud of dust, get your first down and do it again. Bellevue will have to execute and be mistake free to be in this game. Although I think Holmes has some very talented athletics the QB (Walker ?) from Holy Cross is more impressive and more elusive therefore posed a bigger problem for Bellevues Defense. Bellevues chances in this game in my opinion will come down to their defense. Can they hold Holmes to under 21? If they can then they have a chance in my opinion.
