They didn't use one of their top pitchers however pitching wasn't the problem, Tony Mayes did a fine job of pitching it was the unearned runs that beat Bellevue as it has all year. Campbell County did a fine job of taking advantage of some timely errors on Bellevue's part. Bellevues bats let them down in this one, they left bases loaded twice for a total of over 10 men left on base.

You've got to be kidding me if a non starter can't get in a 10 - 0 then when is he going to play. At what point are these non starters going to gain the experience to be capable of stepping in when a starter goes down or fail to get the job done?:confused::confused::confused:

Lucky for him your not a scout. But you may want to give a couple of the ones that have been at the games already that he's not worthy.

I think after watching this kid play and watching his team mates (friends) react to him and rely on him, their may be more pressure on this kid during high school to preform than when playing with a bunch of studs from all over the country in the summer time. By pressure I'm talking about the self imposed kind because you don't want to let your team down. All that being said I think he is a great kid that handles him self very well. Wish him the best at the next level. Which ever one that may be. He has another year of high school ball.

Didn't mean to be bad mouthing Bellevue D at all. They have all in all played a good D this year. But when your #3 pitcher goes up and throws the type of game that Young did he should win. D and bats will come around they were supposed to be the strong points of Bellevue this year. But the pitching has looked good to this point. Bellevue will be fine when it counts. I like the schedule they are playing and it will make them a better team.

Good game by both pitchers Sanolia (sp?) for Highlands and Young for Bellevue. Young pitched good enough to win this game. One earned run you should win those games. Bellevue D let them down again. Sanolia seemed to get stronger as the game went on, he got a little rattled early but settled down and pitched a good game. Both teams seem to be struggling at the plate a little. The umps must be focusing this year on making the batter at least attempt to get out of the way of the pitch. I've been to 5 games this year and seen this called 3 times, but all three times the batter made absolutely no attempt to get out of the way of the pitch or turned into the pitch.

All depends on pitching. NCC will score a few runs they hit well. But without Connor on the mound how many will they give up? Any one know who will pitch for NCC tonight?

I think they have three starters that would compete for starting jobs at any school in Northern Kentucky. Granted one of them (Piper) has got off to a rocky start but is a proven starter and will be fine in long run. He gave up only 3 earned runs against a hot hitting Boone team. Belleve also has a few relievers they are grooming. Again only time will tell but you've already said they are willing to put in the hard work. Hopefully hard work pays off and they will reap the rewards.

Only time will tell. Lets talk in about a month. Hopefully your opinion will change.

Newport has some nice athletes and a good coach. Given time they will pull together and end up a good team. The fans need to be supportive and keep comments to them selfs. A kid just puts more pressure on them selfs when they hear all the negative comments coming out of the fans. Win or loose these are kids playing a game. :sssh:

As far as speed goes Bellevue's top 3 are probably as fast as any with Barrett, Buckler, and Jones. Boone seems to be hitting the ball very well right now. That could be the difference in the game. Bellevue just hasn't hit their stride at the plate yet. When they do I think their line up will compete with any.

Sammy is a fine catcher and one heck of a good kid. Give him another year and maybe he makes that same throw. Keep playing hard Sammy I'll take you on my team any day.:thumb:

connor looked in mid season form too me. he pitched great. 80 some odd pitches, for a few days out of basketball? NCC hit well. was better team on this night. good luck to both teams.

I thought Villa's coaches did a great job with this very young team. They aren't going to beat the upper teams but these coaches never stopped teaching their team the whole game. Villa's program and particularly this years team are in very capable hand and are constantly being taught the proper way to play baseball. Good luck the rest of the way to Villa. :thumb:

All of which are fine young men and good pitchers. As well NCC has some fine young men and some good pitchers. My point in earlier post was that at one and two, for Bellevue, Scott (Sr.) and Pipper (Jr.) are as good if not better than either teams # 2. Bellevue may not have that proven # 1 but have two pitchers that would be most teams # 2 and after that have a few kids in the likes of Young (Jr.) and Mayes (Sr.) that will do fine job at 3 and 4. After that they have some young pitchers that will be able to contribute as the year progresses. I think they will be in the mix for the All A classic. They have the pitching to fair well.

Blue magic your probably right little ole Bellevue doesn't have a chance!:notworthy::notworthy: By the way name the 2nd 3rd and 4th pitchers on NCC and Beechwood that are going to be soooooo much better than those at Bellevue.:confused::confused:

Easy to figure out how to turn this program around. Not so easy to do it. They have some good baseball players at Dayton who don't play for the High School team: Richardson Massey Brown Level etc. etc. Get them out and team instantly turns around. Could be very competitive with most teams. Two pitchers and a catcher not to mention descent bats. Dayton has a few kids like Schweirjohan and Jones who really enjoy the game and want to win add a couple of more and they would be a good team.
