The games at Highlands at 5PM if it doesn't get rained out... What are everybodys predictions? I'm going to say Bellevue by 3...

Should be another great game. Bellevue had a nice win Monday over Newport, then played Boone close today.

Not sure, but I would assume Saniola (sp?) for Highlands. Not sure about Bellevue

I stayed through 6 1/2 innings and Bellevue was leading 3-1.

 

Scoring for Tigers. Combs doubled and scored on a single by Mayes? not sure

Tigers loaded bases in 2nd and Jones roped a solid single up the middle to score two.

 

Tigers defense looked good, Jones turned an unassisted DP in the 1st inning and the 3rd baseman snuffed out another 0 out rally in the 4th by coralling a sharply hit ground ball tagging the bag and firing to first for a DP. I believe Highlands had men on 1st and 2nd at the time.The next inning the Birds advanced a runner to 3rd base and he stole home on a wild pitch only to be nailed at the plate on a nice play by Hegge (catcher) to Young who did a nice job of covering the plate. Tigers are very well coached.

 

Sainola struggled with control in the first couple innings but settled down and looked really good the rest of the way.

 

If anyone has a final lets hear it. I had to leave with the Tigers up 3-1. Highlands was coming to bat in the bottom of the 6th.

 

Mikey Young looked really good for the Tigers on the mound. The Bird hitters couldnt get any solid hits.

 

My summation of the game.

 

Highlands needs to get their bats going. They have solid talent and Sainola got in a groove and started throwing well.

 

Bellevue is led by Jones who is smooth and can hit but they have some other bats and heady ballplayers as well.

Three errors cost tigers the game. Two by the catcher and one at short. 4-3 final Highlands had one earned run.Young pitched a great game.Birds walked Jones to get to four batter.This worked more teams will do this until four batter hits.
