Well said. Its about the players. Not the fans or parents. Everybody will always have something to complain about no matter how many classes they are. Also, there are only 2 teams with boys enrollment around 1400, T and X. The closest is probably around 1000 or so.

Doesnt look to me that Trimble has faced much competition. Plus they have only played 1 game. I don't remember who they scrimmaged or what the score what.

Does the JV game mean a blowout by Henry Co in varisty play? Henry is probably a little (or lot) better than Atherton.

Another tough loss for South. After watching this game, South looks much improved and I look for them to break that losing streak in the next few games.

That Happens every year with teams buying out contracts.

Thats a big win. Might have been more of a blow out than people expected.

I thought Desales beating Western by a 9 points was a big suprise also. Western is supposed to be loaded the year. The coach said they had like 10 offensive and 10 defensive starters returning. Thats a team that beat Central last year.

What were some of the biggest suprises this weekend? My vote goes to Seneca beating Central, 44-26, with a backup QB. Anybody else?

BornBCHS, how did Bracken look in their scrimmage? Based on the score, seems like they had a lot of success, but you can't base a lot on the score of a scrimmage. I wish them luck this season after going through 3 coaches since last year. Hopefully this guy wants to stay and build them.

I dont know but a few high school coaches and Trimble or Atherton is not any of them. If you look at previous posts I have made, I always like to discuss how/why people think this coach is a good/bad coach. Based on statements made by people on this thread, seems to me they think Trimbles coaches are not as good as Athertons. I have ask these questions and discussed this about many diifferent teams. Thanks and stop assuming!!!

On another post they said Bracken beat Atherton like 42-6. Either Bracken is vastly improved or Atherton has dropped off the map.

I would say thats a pretty tall order with Frankfort in their district. According the KHSAA scoreboard, Frankfort beat them 56-6 last year and from what I have saw in the previews Frankfort might be better this year! Second at best would be my guess.

I am not saying he doesnt know how to coach. I am sure both Trimble County and Atherton have some pretty dang good coaches on staff. Most people don't coach high school football and not know anything. Just seemed to me that everybody on here that says Atherton will win, even though Trimble has more talent, must be saying it because Trimble has terrible coaches! Or that Athertons coaching staff is that much superior!

No idea on QB. They don't have their roster listed on the KHSAA site yet. I am not much of a football expert so don't know much about what offense they are running or anything. Somebody said earlier that they were running the wing-t out of the shotgun, which I couldnt really tell you what that is? :idunno: Just seemed to me that everyone on here was talking about Trimble had some good talent and Atherton had none, but yet Atherton would win. I was just wondering if Trimbles coach was that bad to lose to Atherton - who doesnt have half the talent Trimble doesn? I have no clue myself.

I totally agree with that statement. I have said that on here before. It doesnt matter who is coach or what they know, you have to have some players. But, with that statement, it sounds to me like Atherton does not have the Jimmies and Joes, and Trimble does have them. So is Trimble Counties coach that terrible that they will lose the game even though they have that much more talent? He could be, I have no idea, just wondering if a lot of you are saying Atherton will win this game.

Holy Cross should win this hands down. They have the chance to be 1 of the better teams in single A. Would not help their cause to loose this first game.

Dang! Sounds like they have some coaching talent there at Atherton. I looked at the KHSAA website and Bracken has only won 2 games since 2004. The last time they beat a Kentucky High Schol was 2004. Sounds like Atherton is heading in the right direction with all that coaching talent.

Henry Clay or any other Lexington team can't keep up with St. X this year. I saw that Henry Clays coach said this is the fastest team he has had since coaching there, so maybe it won't be a romp by X.

Where do you base your assumption on this? I don't know either coaches or coaching staff, what would make you state this? Just wondering.

They might make some noise? But get beat by Atherton? If you can't get by Atherton, it would be hard to make noise against anybody!

Agree. Breathitt will roll in this one. From what I have heard and seen of Fugate, Mercer will not have an answer for him all game long.

Boyle might be more athletic than Johnson Central, but this one could be a close one!
