Some to do with Xs and Os, but you have to have a few Jimmies and Joes! -
I thought Owensboro would have won by more.

Dang, surprise, Gallatin up 7-6 late in third if true! -
I saw some people on a different thread talking about how some Kentucky high school teams have an indoor practice facility (not a gym). No matter how big it is. If anybody has pictures of the facilities it would be cool to post them on here so everybody can see them and maybe get a little sad:cry: they don't have one. I am not for sure, but have heard that Mercer County, Henry County, Mayfield, Larue County all have some type of indoor football facility.

You have to win at some point. You can build a program the right way, have everything going in the right direction, but nothing will derail it more than losing. Not many teams can do what Central is doing and play every tough team in the state and lose to them, but get better for it. Most teams need wins and learning how to win against lesser competition. Then you start getting tougher and tougher opponents. -
Frankfort / Gallatin Predictions
footballhd replied to Tru B 33's topic in KY Football (High School)
It doesnt look like Frankfort will have a problem defeating Gallatin. Dont know if Trimble can beat Eminence, but if they do, Trimble probably cant hang with Frankfort. I think I saw that Gallatin beat Trimble. So I would say Frankfort takes the district again. -

Does a win over Gallatin County give Frankfort the district title? -

Looks like they actually scored some points last week. That could spell trouble for Bracken. -

I would say making the playoffs and winning 2-3 games would be a great improvement from last season 0-10. With Grant and Owen left on their schedule, they could potentially finish with 3 wins and playoff berth. I would say that is moving in the right direction after going 0-10. -

Carroll County/Trimble County Predictions

Sorry, 7 total games and a 1-6 record. Looking at the stats on last years KHSAA site, looks like Trimbles 4 seniors that graduated accounted for around 3000 yards of offense and 20+ TDs. -

Not much difference from last year after looking at KHSAA site. They were 1-4 last year at this point. Actually, looks like they started 1-7 last year. And that was with the last coach being so smart and using the A-11 offense. Whoa, things must be crumbling there. -

My question is, where did all the points go? Didnt they score 48 against their first opponent and havent scored more than once a game since? Just wondering. -
High School Football Fields/Facilities
footballhd replied to mcraycraft's topic in KY Football (High School)
My opinion, but I dont like the stadiums with full tracks around them. Fans have to sit too far away from the field. Its nice to have that home crowd really close screaming and yelling! -

It would be cool if everybody could post pictures of different stadiums and field (if possible) Maybe start a new thread. Belfry is NICE! -

Have you questioned Atherton, Moore, Iroquios, Waggener, Southern, Manual, Central, PRP, Eastern? They all have the same record as South and they are in the same county. They should be winning, because Fern Creek wins. -

So your saying that kids should stop believing and buying in to the program? -

Who has blamed the kids? Who has walked away? Does a kid have to do his homework and pass the class, or can the teacher do the homework for them and give them a passing grade no matter level of math they are on? According to the state's test scores North Oldham and Oldham Co. has higher math scores than South, so I guess that proves why South Oldham loses in football. -

I would assume coaches get interviewed all the time but don't get to decide what goes in the paper and on the radio. Did the coach write the article or put together the radio interview? How do you know who he commented on and who he didn't? After reading the Oldham Era with their win over Waggener, his quote was, "We didn't do anything different on offense or defense, the kids just found a way to win." Sounds to me like he was promoting all the kids not one. Didn't Colmike say in another thread that Coach Holbrook has a motto at South "One-11" meaning all are included in the program? Sounds to me like you have more interest in wanting to get rid of Coach Holbrook rather than wondering what is going on at South Oldham. By the way, are your friends at SO supporters of the program or just parents of players at SO? -

My opinion is that some coaches and programs allow players to miss practice, not work hard during practice, etc because they think it gives them the best chance to win. Sometimes it does and it works out, but other times it bites them in the butt. Sounds like Coach Holbrook is not putting up with these things, no matter how good a player is and setting a precedent for the whole program. The great programs year in and year out have players that have bought into the idea of the "program" and work to make the program better. Not to achieve individual awards, but rather team awards.
