Looked to me like they had a social studies and spec ed spot open. So you are saying they are open because teachers not getting their contracts renewed? I am not doubting you or questioning you. I thought the social studies job was open due to Chism resigning? And I don't know about the spec ed? Or does the new coach even teach one of those?

I would say 99% of coaches in the state of KY would say spring practice is beneficial. You really can't compare what Trinity or St. Xavier do, to really any other team. So a coach has been chosen! Thats great for the kids and program. So I am assuming it wont be official until next week sometime? Although, I guess Harrison won the hiring race since it seems there guy is official.

This gets more interesting by the moment! Why in the world would a coach not do spring practice? Too much work? Sounds to me like, Trimble got lucky when he resigned! He might have been liked by the players as mentioned before, but didnt have the drive or work ethic to be a head coach!:idunno:

I could see an assistant coaching baseball, but not a head coach.

Looks like Harrison might be announcing today. Will Trimble also? I might have been right to have picked Harrison.

So that makes him a great coach? I am not trying to degrade him or say hes not, but why would he do a tremendous job?

Its makes for a bad situation for the kids and school. I am sure that puts the administration in a tough position. Hopefully all of these schools can overcome it and be ok in the end.

They should know teaching positions by now and have a candidate picked.

I am still undecided. It will either be Trimble or Harrison over South Laurel. I am going to go with Harrison for the first hire.

I agree. Thats what I have said before about taking so long to hire, especially at the very end of school.

Back to topic. Has somebody been chosen? Interviews over? Thought Harrison was going to make a hire first, but now Trimble might have the slight edge if they hire this week!

X and places like Trimble, Henry, Owen, Grant Co, etc are a total different entity. As I stated before, being an assistant at a successful 6A school doesnt mean the person has the qualities to be a head coach. You have a different type of school, community, athletes, parents, etc in these smaller counties.
