Maybe nobody is wanting it??? They could keep offereing it and keep getting turned down. Who knows what is going on!!!

That is a pretty silly statement. A coach that was fired, hired by another school system as coach, should, instead of preparing his new team, spend time working out his old team? Doesnt make sense to me.

According to the KDE website, only teaching openings have to be posted for 30 days. Coaching positions do not, not matter if it is an internal candidate or not.

I have seen some people state there is a 30 day period to hire a coach and some say not. So I went to the source the other day, KDE, and looked it up. It says that a teaching vacancy must be posted for 30 days, but a coaching position does not. I can go find it again and post it word for word if anybody want it.

If I was hiring and an assistant coach who wanted the job, but didn't do weights because he was not the coach "yet", I would not consider them. So you are saying that Chism doesn't want to put the time in it takes at the High School level?

I guess resigning and being told to resign is the same thing.

So are they getting any closer to doing anything? Or are they going to wait until they see about the possible teaching positions and then interview?

This hiring is taking forever. Usually when this happens the administration does not care much about athletics. If so, they would already hired a coach. Hasnt this job been open for 2-3 months? I feel sorry for the kids that they have not hired somebody yet.

That would be a hard move for Turner from Madison Central unless he can retire from the public schools and then go to Cov Cath. It would be tough to stop paying into his teachers retirement and stop earning years of service.

Does Trimble have anybody doing offseason stuff with the players right now?

Wonder if they have anybody on staff that could take it? Currently, it might be the best job in the area.

If I am not mistaken, didn't almost all of North Oldham's district take away from South Oldham? If so, isn't South Oldham trying to make up for the loss of these kids that play at North? For the past 5 years, I would bet that North Oldham has graduated more senior football players than South Oldham.

Would that mean Pike Central coach is stepping down to take another job? Pikeville? Multiple posters have mentioned him taking the reigns of Pikeville back over again.

I had heard that NO will not play OC right now. It was offered by OC I do believe.

My view is that most of the kids don't have a say in whether they are home schooled or sent to public school. Its their parents decision. So I guess it gets down to punishing the kid for his or her's parents decision?

That is what I was basically getting at. I thought he was talking about a teacher/coach hired in another school district.

ColonelMike, from what I heard, a coach has to have some position with the school in order to be the chaperone on away games. Although, some retired teachers still coach I believe, but maybe that is a different set of circumstances.
