SuperB Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 (edited) Can anyone confirm this? Edited January 23, 2009 by Ram
The Windex Man Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 Yes the rumor is floating around the Pike County area but at this point it seems to be just a rumor.
Braveheart Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 I am hearing this as well, but I would be very suprised if he came.
5wide Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 Wasn't he @ Pikeville for a stint? Yes. For one season...and it didn't end well. I'd be very surprised if this actually happened. With established, traditional powers like Belfry and Pikeville already in place, along with a few other schools in the county, the job doesn't seem that attractive to me. I could be wrong though... Combine that with his previous experience in Pikeville. It just doesn't seem likely to me.
Watusi Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 I hear the offer has been made, but Coach Chapman hasn't made a decision yet.

5wide Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 I agree I don't see it either but I could be worng. I wouldn't be in utter shock or anything...just wouldn't bet on it, considering the two major factors... 1. Previous experience as coach of Pikeville 2. Trying to establish a program in a county with so much competition...Belfry and Pikeville are the top dogs and probably get the bulk of the good talent, and the rest is spread over a handful of schools, including Pike Central. It just seems like the odds are stacked against anyone trying to establish a program in Pike County right now. I think Chapman could get a better position eventually...with regards to the possibility of success. I have no idea what Pike Central is offering money-wise...and it may be too much to pass on. Hopefully, he'll stick around for one more year anyway...BC should have a great shot to return to Louisville and possibly win their 4th ring. Having Chapman in place to direct the defense is very important to their chances. They've never won a title without him coaching the defense and there was a noticeable drop on that side of the ball when he left the last time.
kypride Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 How about the fact that Pike Central has a coach! Offering a job to someone when you already have a coach is total garbage.
WideZone Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 What happened to their Head Coach? Or has anything?
Tall Trees Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 How about the fact that Pike Central has a coach! Offering a job to someone when you already have a coach is total garbage. Pike Central does not have a coach at this time, he has stepped down or been let go which ever one you want to call it.
Tall Trees Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 From what I heard, he resigned. I heard different.
jbwill2 Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Is Chapman currently an assistant coach at Breathitt?
