Trimble County Head Coach

With the departure of Coach Poynter for Bourbon County who will step up to fill this position. Any thoughts, possibilities or help here.:confused:

This roster looks pretty promising for any incoming coach all of the players on this roster with the exception of maybe 2 or 3 saw major Varsity minutes with Poynter. 22 returning players and I have been told that there are around 8 to 12 incoming Freshman to this team some with some very good size and a couple that are amazingly fast, add that to the mix and this should be a fun group to build with.:thumb:

15 players on this list started at some point during the year. Trimble only lost 4 seniors that played. Also hear that Craig Ward is going to be able to play this year and a new very athletic young man named Justin Webb. This group should be able to build on what has been established over the last few years. I hear that TC is not going to do anything until it figures out what teaching spot that a coach can be put in.

Coach Poynter is a good choice for this job he has history of turning around programs.

You can look for it to take a while. Trimble Co does not know what teaching positions it will have to offer until closer to the end of the year. I doubt many coaches are interested in only receiving the head coach stipend.

I hope that TC does not stall this one out it would be a setback for any Coach and his Team. There are a couple of former Coaches within TC that would be good choices and they are both all ready Teaching one in the High School and the other at the Elementary School, reach out and dont let these kids get behind.:thumb:

I agree. The job just got posted and there have been a few people inquire about it. Who are the people that are in the school that you feel would be a good choice? There are several young players that played alot last year that need someone in place to keep everything going in the right direction. Good luck to TC.

Poynter only had 2 asst. coahes and both of them were first year coaches.

If I were Trimble, I'd be putting in a call to Dave Weston, who was just let go at Louisville Holy Cross. He's familiar with coaching at a small school, and is a tremendous coach... His five HC teams all had winning records and all went to the playoffs.
