Secondly, the 30 days required before a coach can be hired once the position has been posted is not yet up. I am curious as to what knowledge you have to be able to be able to put blame on the AD, principal for "not already reaching out and finding someone to take over for these boys." Do you KNOW that they have done nothing? Perhaps they have been in contact with the current assistant coaches that are paid for a full year of committment to the job. We have been back in school for 14 days since the announcement of Poynter's leaving. Let's not wail about that anyone is being slighted in the weightroom.

 

Thirdly, if Chism applies for the job (which to my knowledge he has not done yet), I am sure that he wants to be chosen as the best person for the job, not the only one available at the time.

 

With that being said, let's give the committee time to find the person best able to continue Trimble's resurgance amongst our area schools and beyond.

 

One last thing..."old" must be just a state of mind for you...or just a relative thing. We do have common ground, though. We both want what is best for these kids AND the whole program.

Our district always follows this policy.

If they hire an internal candidate they don't have to post it for 30 days.

According to the KDE website, only teaching openings have to be posted for 30 days. Coaching positions do not, not matter if it is an internal candidate or not.

Kenton County Schools does not follow a policy of teachers being hired above others. They must just meet the 64 hours and pass the background check.

Any word here on who will be or who maybe the New Head Coach at TC for 2009?

I guess they are still waiting to see what teaching positions will be available. That was what was said several weeks ago.

Saw a few weeks ago on here that a few had applied or something like that.

No word and there won't be for awhile. Nothing has changed since the last time this was asked.

Must be tough on the players, not having a head coach in place or the possiblity of having one soon. Hopefully, they have an assistant coach or somebody doing offseason stuff with them and will do spring practice.

A group of assistants and former assistants will resume strength and conditioning on Monday. The interview process will also begin next week and the hope is to have a coach in place before spring practice.

How many coaches have applied?

I'm not sure at this point.

So does that mean they finally figured out what teaching position will be open? Or they are just going to look at hiring within because of the teaching situation?
