TP...you and your Mayfield faithful are getting sucked-in to this back-n-forth banter by mostly non-BW fans..."we" know it's an uphill battle to beat Mayfield...you guy's blow smoke up our butt's, but I prefer that as opposed your typical sand-bagging. I like this years BW team much better than last year's team because they aren't one-dimensional. When Mayfield shutdown our game-plan there wasn't a plan "B" nor did we really have the option for a plan "B". Last year, you punched us in the mouth early, we didn't see it coming, and we played like a deer in headlights and never recovered. No way do I think you were 38pts better, but when were were forced into a passing game...we were done. This year, I do think BW is stronger, faster, more discipline, and we have a pretty decent passing game with a couple of 6"4 & 6'5" receivers with great hands... I highly doubt BW will lay an egg this year, but who knows. Without a doubt Mayfield is the 1A Goliath. BW only has a total of 3 seniors on the field so last years game in not in the memory of this team like you think...will it be a blowout again, possibly, but this BW team will not quit. I pray your boy's are as over-confident and arrogant as the MHS fans...BW fans and players were over-confident last year and got it handed to them. Yes, the schedule was the same as last years and yes, you still hammered us. The main difference this year is that we were competitive and up by 2 TD's in all but one of them. If we can keep it close with your 1's on the field late in the game we have a chance to steal it because we've been there done that multiple times this year...not sure if that's an advantage, but I'm grasping for anything right now Have a safe trip...bring some very warm clothes (upper 20's at kickoff)

I for one was getting very concerned about the number of flags at "key" points in the game. I was happy the game didn't come down to leaving in the ref's hands.

Since you are a Mayfield guy and stirred-up this stuff with this "sand-bag" thread...why don't yuo start a thread "can anyone hang with Mayfield?"...no doubt after scoring 59 unanswered against LHC they are the team to fear. Bring your thermals...it will be in the upper 20's at kickoff

Same teams as last year...so one would expect the same results...

Just my opinion based on seeing both teams in action. The 3 common opponents listed in this thread does not really help. 2 of the 3 were blowouts so the 1's probably rested much of the game. Also, comparing the BW games is apples to oranges considering it was the 3rd week and 10th week of the season. Plus, Vocke was out much of the game against HC. When he went down, BW was a total mess because they didn't seem to have a plan B. As I said earlier, the late season loss to a rival has NCC in a different mindset because they know they can be beaten. I know Bred fans were highly upset after the BW game, but it just might have been a blessing in disquise because they lived to fight another day.

Nice Jab on the first comment (in bold) and also stop patronizing...it's beneath you Ryle is without a doubt the most talented and experienced from top to bottom, but they (including coaches) find it gets really tough to swallow when they see the baby-blue...even if Ryle pulls out a season win (2nd in history) let's see if they (including coaches) can get over the hump on the big stage when it matters. I agree. Not knocking Ludlow's coach at all, but based on #2 in the district and a good playoff showing...it's tough to not give WV's coach the nod.

Completely agree! There were probably 20 people at the school to meet the team after beating NCC. A longtime BW supporter was there and said "this doesn't make sense...there was a time when the parking lot would be packed with fans after such a huge win over NewCath".

Moss draws so much attention that it takes a lot of pressure off the guards. I like Boone's guards a lot. Jones is an in your face defender that will drive opposing guards crazy. She needs to work on her perimeter shooting, stop over-passing, and stay out of foul trouble. BBG: Moss can definitely handle the ball and she will bring it down the floor occasionally, but the opposing team would love nothing more than to keep her away from the basket.

So can Frankfort and LHC.

Exactly...which is why I had hoped BW fans wouldn't engage in another ridiculous thread started by a fan of another team just to get something started.

Man, I sit back and watch all the stuff you sling...I am incredibly far from being a Bird fan, but my goodness, for only a couple of recent years of success "basically, in any sport" where does all of this trash talk come from...even though SK hasn't had consistant success in much of anything...try to be a little humble and "act" like you've been there. My goodness! Highlands' schedule includes the likes of St X and Elder...it seems "highly" unlikely they would dodge a game with "the neers" for goodness sakes...

VOR...word on the street is that BW also has Mason OH on the schedule next year...can you confirm?

WV will score some points, but their defense seem to have trouble with speed and will give up a lot of pts. I would love nothing more than to be in Ft Mitchell next week, but I'm afraid a trip to Frankfort is in the near future.

It's obvious which way the fans lean...the unbiased fans, even an on-field reporter, seem to feel the nose of the ball crossed. Instant replay doesn't show enough conclusive evidence to overturn the call BW has been in a couple of games with early leads against very good teams and didn't keep their composure during comebacks. NCC had to play from behind and didn't show discipline (penalties) and wasn't very composed like the #1 team should have been. BW now knows they "can" win a close game and NCC now knows they "can" lose. The timing of this game was great for both teams because now "it's one and done" from this point forward...

Come on...no way you can spend time on BGP's and no know that 75% of the posts are related to HHS or make some refence to the Bird's...which is ironically what I ended up doing with this 1A thread Agree, there are a bunch of fans from the other 1A contenders loving the fact they are left out of the chatter and would love nothing more than to rain on our parade.

So the post that was put on here months ago still stands...why bother playing the game? just send the trophy to the Cards and save us the long cold 4 weeks of waiting. TP...if I didn't see your avatar or school affiliation in your posts...I would swear you were from Ft Thomas
