Shumate is all gas and IMO is either on or off. Sure somedays he will have stuff that no one can hit. Other days he is way off. If I'm Krumps and I am playing Holy Cross or Beechwood in Districts then I'm starting Warning. Who knows though. We all know how much other people have their opinions heard up at CCH.

Agree, and he has 5 pitches and mixes very well. When you can mix and locate pitches you don't need a flaming fastball.

Warning will be the #1 IMO.

I've heard the same thing from people inside Beechwood. That is a huge blow to the Tigers. I saw them as the team to beat in the 35th but now I think HC is.

I think that Beechwood, HC, and CCH will all have solid pitching staffs. I'm not too sure about the rest of the region but I think those three will be in the upper half.

You're right. But I can't help but to wonder if maybe his lack of playing time against Scott contributed to this decision. Like 4pointplay said Egan was on track to go to Scott for HS. So it's understandable that Egan would want to get out there and play against his boys and former teammates. If I'm in his position I'd be pretty angered right now too but I don't think quitting is the right thing to do.

Not necessarily. Hate to use the old cliche but you play how you pracitice. Maybe Egan's lack of effort in practice would have caught up to him. And practice is where you get better, so if your not trying in practice your not trying to get better.

I am excited to see AC in the Irish offense. How could you pass up playing for ND? I'm not sure why Irish fans are all over this but a lot of those guys on the message boards are never happy and aren't really true fans. Really looking forward to seeing AC in blue and gold next year.

After I saw them play HC I was sold this team would win some games this year. They are a physical, experienced ball club and they have the ability to give a lot of 9th region teams some trouble this year. Come district play this team may give NCC, Newport and Highlands a run for their money. I know I wouldn't want to draw them.

I think CCH travels to Union and picks up a W. Game will be ugly, but a win is a win. CCH has the deeper bench, but I would like to see them cut back on playing 10-11 guys to 8-9 guys. I think Wellbrock and Thelen are physical enough to play with Ryle's physical bodies down low.

I'd say NCC wins this one by about 10.

I take scott 63-54. I didn't get the chance to see Scott play till last night against Harrison County, and they looked real good. They have a good player in Junior Cameron Haynes he really had a good game last night, which caught me off guard because he is a first year starter, and he is not talked about much. Other reasoning is that (correct me if I am wrong) that Mason County had a tough time getting the win against Holy Cross (who is definatley having a down year this year). If they want to beat Scott, they are going to have to come with their best game, because I guarantee Scott will.

Agreed. Had to have been at least 8 to 10 missed free throws from Mason County in the 4th alone.

Back in 07 Holy Cross had an extremely talented team that features a young Shina Giwa, Corey Sorrel, Jimmy Ryan, Joe Sullivan, and Will Eifert. They got beat at CCH and by Holmes in districts. I don't think that HC will see a team that talented again for awhile.

I would agree with that. Just interested in opinions. Interesting considering that two of those teams for sure wont be in the region.

I'm hesitant to judge the way the rest of the season will go for the Indians based on one game but I will say that they struggled with NCC's press (as they did Dayton) and they had a lot of turnovers. HC didn't shoot well as a team and also made little effort to stop Geisler. But like I said earlier, they are a very young inexperienced team and we won't see their full potential until mid-season.

This is JMO at the end of the Playoffs: 1. Fort Campbell 2. DeSales 3. Prestonburg 4. Murray 5. Corbin 6. Monroe County 7. NCC 8. Green County 9. Holy Cross 10. CAL There is no reason CAL should be placed above HC, HC played DeSales tougher than both CAL did in the regular season and NCC in the playoffs. NCC was way overrated this year. JMO though.

They are young and rebuilding. It's going to take awhile.
