wildcatfan
20-19 Boone at half. Holy Cross sat in a 3-2 zone the whole game. Earls had a big second half down low for Boone. Boone grabbed an 8 point lead in the 4th quarter, and held the ball until Holy Cross had to come out and pressure/foul, after which Boone got several easy baskets. Holy Cross hit lots of 3s. Cotton, Popp, and Montgomery also played pretty well for Boone.
Clyde
HC is small. I can see where Earls would have his way inside.

goldendomer57
I was wondering where Egan was. What happened. Holy Cross was small. Heard he was upset because he didn't get much playing time in the Scott game because he wasn't trying hard at practice. I don't think him and Goetz got along at all. thebigfella23
Egan quit? Who's left for the Indians? Knochelman and Stropko. Both juniors.
carguy
How is it when you get Player of the Game and receive a plaque on Friday night after scoring 16 pts.....then score 8 pts in Sat's game then on Tuesday Egan did not get in the whole 1st qtr in the Scott game when the Indians were getting their butts kicked? Egan probably played a total of 1/2 a qtr the whole game....what's up with that?

Walter
I'm surprised Holy Cross kept it close in the first half. They led after the first quarter and were only down 20-19 at the half. Boone must have turned it up in the second half.

They pressed more and took advantage of the size mismatch more in the second half.
Walter
Yes. They pressed more and took advantage of the size mismatch more in the second half. What type of game plan did HC use in the first half? Did they try to slow the game down at all?
wildcatfan
What type of game plan did HC use in the first half? Did they try to slow the game down at all? They just played very methodically and kept passing around the perimeter and waiting for 3 point attempts. They sat in a 3/2 zone the whole game. In the second half, Boone figured out how to attack it. Very ugly first half.

4pointplay
Egan had a nice junior season and thought he would be the centerpiece to Holy Cross season as most experienced player. Very versatile player that has had to play his whole career out of position at Holy Cross. Hate to second guess decisons made 4 years ago and basketball probably was only a small part of the equation but he would have made a nice piece to the puzzle the past couple of seasons at Scott. He was the best player on those middle school teams that included Scotts current senior class.
