Geisler the big 6'6 Jr gets 22-10 and 4 blocks. Only 5 people in the scoring column for the Breds though and one is a sophomore in Hightchew. Is the talent pool thin on the hill this year after Geisler/Meyer/Pangallo?

What is the future like for the Indians also, not one player reached double figures and they were led in scoring in their first game by a sophomore.

They are young and rebuilding. It's going to take awhile.

That is putting things mildly. Freshmen team is not very good and not much in the 8th grade as well.

Could be a long season in Latonia....

Is HC turning into a football school now? hmmmm

I'm hesitant to judge the way the rest of the season will go for the Indians based on one game but I will say that they struggled with NCC's press (as they did Dayton) and they had a lot of turnovers. HC didn't shoot well as a team and also made little effort to stop Geisler. But like I said earlier, they are a very young inexperienced team and we won't see their full potential until mid-season.

I have always respected the HC program since the days I faced em in the late 80's so I know they have a lot of tradition but it just seems like they are down right now. Goetz is a good coach but I know he was out looking at other offers this past Spring and that is a sign that maybe the pipeline looks empty for a few years.

I'm not surprised NCC won this game but the margin is a bit surprising.

HC is really going to struggle this year.

I'm not sure that Goetz entertaining offers is related to the talent coming up. With all schools that add another sport, there will be impact across all aspects of the athletic program. HC is defiantely down this year, but look for them to rebound in the next couple.

He was out looking for jobs probably because he hasn't done a good job since the first 2 years when he came in and the talent was already stacked up by old coach Dan Trame. Coach Goetz has great potential but yet hasn't done a very good job down there at HC

Name the potential? I am curious. I know the Burger kid is a dynamite shooter in the soph class. Who else? I only saw one frosh player with good enough skills to possibly see any Varsity minutes in the next couple years and that was the big kid from St. Joe's crescent springs. I dont know his name but he has nice skills for a big kid.

Sorry meant to say had potential in years past but many good players and athletes quit because they weren't liking the job the Goetz was doing

Back in 07 Holy Cross had an extremely talented team that features a young Shina Giwa, Corey Sorrel, Jimmy Ryan, Joe Sullivan, and Will Eifert. They got beat at CCH and by Holmes in districts. I don't think that HC will see a team that talented again for awhile.

I agree. They could have had a great team last year too but many good players quit either in there sophomore or junior years because they didn't like the job Goetz was doing.
