Actually you are correct BUT....Considering the fact that this freshmen tournament has teams from 3 different regions makes it that much more special. If you asked the Scott coaches which tournament they would have rather won, it was a no brainer. They won the one they wanted. Congratulations again to the NKAC Freshmen Tournament Champs! The illegal screen on Holmes towards the end of the game was the best call of the night. That was such an easy call to make. Devin would have called that on Scott if it were reversed- no doubt in my mind. Enough about the relationship between Steve and Devin. Devin is a very good freshmen official and Steve is a great coach. Congratulations Eagles- you earned it!

What a joke! You missed a pretty good game by being one sided about your views. This was a very good officiated game. Funny how talking to Holmes coach after the game he thought it was a well played game by both teams and the officials were very good. Like the Old Guy said- holmes missed way too many free throws. They also let an 8pt lead with 4 minutes to play slip away. Scott kids didnt quit and kept fighting and hit huge shots.

Congratulations to Coach Fromeyer and Coach Adkins. Fantastic year by the Eagles capped off by the Regional Championship. Coach Carr has a fantastic job building this program and has some great coaches on his staff. Eagles teams always play their tails off and are very respectful. Nice to see good things happen to good people.

I expected this game to be closer. NCC's third game in 4 days and with Geisler getting in foul trouble early you would think Brossart would have taken advantage of that. Great job to the Breds. Great crowd! Glad to see Derek Schmidt hitting shots again. He has struggled recently. Great rivalry. If I'm not mistaken this is 3 in a row for the boys on the hill.

This will be Newcaths 3rd game in 4 days. Still think NC wins by 8. Low scoring defensive struggle. 46-38.

Talked to a NewCath fan. They said the game was very well officiated. The reason NCC didnt shoot many ft's was because they had to settle for outside shots. Shot a ton of 3's. With all their injuries they didnt have an inside game. Colonels outrebounded them by approximately 20. They knew they would have had to shoot the ball really well to beat CovCath. Congratulations to the Breds on a great year and good luck to the Colonels.

I don't think in Coach Dawn's system he really cares where a girl went to grade school or where she lives. He will play the best players. Period!

Boone, covcath and scott are the top 3. Highlands, newcath, ryle, conner, cooper, sk could beat anyone. i hear newcath has quite a few players out so they arent as strong as they could be.

Who picked the all-tournament team? How could they leave off Shaun Meyer #11 for NewCath. Kid plays his butt off and was the only player for Newcath smart enough to take the ball to the hole and not rely on 3pt shooting. Young man had a tremendous tournament.

So why does Simon Kenton and Scott play but Campbell Co and Brossart do not? If the 8th and 10th regions have their own freshmen tournaments then why are they allowed to play in both?

I agree with Mustang. Personally, I feel its too hard to say who is the best coach in Nky. There are quite a few very good coaches who work their tails off. The coaches who do more with less are normally your smaller schools. Coach Code and Faust would be at the top of my list in that category.

I heard today the draw is Jan 31st. Games begin on 2/3 at CovCath. There is only one tournament it is not split up. Boone is the 2 time defending champ and one of the favorites along with CovCath. Very balanced teams this year. I have watched most teams play and I would rank them the following: 1. CovCath 2. Boone 3. Scott 4. Highlands/Cooper/Ryle/NCC

St. Henry does not get talent every year. People do fear playing them becaus e Coach Faust gets the most out of his players. They always play extremely hard and very disciplined. I love the way he manages a game from the sidelines. Were they very good before him? Will they be as good after him, I serously doubt it.

What makes these types of statements pop up are the fact that this game featured 2 officials who have no business doing any high school games. I sat in total amazement. This was the type of game that had the potential of getting out of control and someone getting injured. Honestly, I have never seen anything like it before and I have sat through hundreds of games.

Tough loss by the Eagles. NCC hit a 3 pointer at the buzzer to win the game. Both teams played extremely hard. Both will contend for the freshman regional title. I was told NCC was now 11-3. Scott has about the same record. NCC has lost 2 close ones to Boone. Scott has lost to Cooper, Brossart, Boone and now NCC. This was the worst officiated game I have ever seen in my life. :puke: Congratulations to both teams on an exciting freshmen game. Good Luck in the upcoming tournament.
