How tall is Jackson?

The star of the game to me at least, was the Scott Freshmen Coach Steve Fromeyer, who IMHO will not be at Scott next year. He is far too good of a coach to stay and coach a freshmen team. I look for Coach Fromeyer to be a JV coach at a bigger school, or a Head Coach at a smaller school next year.

How can the Scott Freshmen Coach be the star of the game you ask? Easy! He kept his cool during the game and encouraged his players. He didn't scream at them, he didn't yell at them tonight, he kept his cool and they kept theirs!

One huge example. Late in the fourth quarter and Scott is down by one, #23 Jackson has the ball just beyond the middle court line. Jackson looks to his right then throws the ball to his left, the only problem was that no Scott player was anywhere near where he threw the ball to.

Now remember these are Freshmen and these kids are extremely nervous and I could see the face of young Mr. Jackson go grey, but Coach Fromeyer immediately called time out and just when you might think he would lay into the young man, he pats the kid on the back and tell the young man, "It was my fault, I should have called timeout before the TO".

Now the look of the players went from scared to death, to yea we can win this and Fromeyer told each player in that huddle that they only had to worry about stopping the player they were guarding and you could see in their eyes they believed in him.

After admitting his mistake to his kids (it really wasn't) the kids believe that they could do anything from then on, and they did stop Holmes and took the lead.

Outstanding game, one that was nip and tuck all night long.

Congrats to Holmes on a great season, and congrats to Scott for winning the show!

Congrats to Coach Sorrell of CovCath and his staff of volunteers for another great year of hosting this outstanding Freshmen Tourney!

Congratulations to Coach Fromeyer and Coach Adkins. Fantastic year by the Eagles capped off by the Regional Championship. Coach Carr has a fantastic job building this program and has some great coaches on his staff. Eagles teams always play their tails off and are very respectful. Nice to see good things happen to good people.

My view of the game was a little different. I felt the personal relationship of the official and coach of Scott (Steve)helped influenced the game especially in the fourth period and in overtime. Several calls swayed the momentum and they were bad calls against Holmes.

The games wasn't won or lost by the coaches or the players, Devin (ref) became way to visible when the game was on the line and that was a shame.

Really a shame that a fan claims the Ref blew/lost the game for one team over another.

BTW the stripes were Ninth Region and Scott is a 10th Region team.

It was a good game played by both teams and the stripes did a good job also.

Sure there were missed calls but calls were missed on both teams and that is what happens in most games. Not sure what your beef was, can you give an example of a play?

I believe the officials did not determine the game holmes was up 8 points with less than 3 minutes in the game and washed the lead away. And the personal relationship with the scott coach comment is just an excuse to blame someone for why they lost.

BTW did you happen to look at the Free Throw percentage of Holmes tonight?

07/15 46.7%! If Holmes shoots a reasonable 60% from the charity line tonight there is no OT and Holmes goes home the Champion. If you want to blame someone blame your team for shooting so poorly from the charity line and don't blame the stripes.

 :idunno: :isurrender: :ohbrother: :puke:

What a joke! You missed a pretty good game by being one sided about your views. This was a very good officiated game. Funny how talking to Holmes coach after the game he thought it was a well played game by both teams and the officials were very good.

Like the Old Guy said- holmes missed way too many free throws. They also let an 8pt lead with 4 minutes to play slip away. Scott kids didnt quit and kept fighting and hit huge shots.

About what I expected.. Nick Jackson made me look good, with my statement as him being the best player to play freshman ball this year. The kid is a beast.

I don't have an affiliation with either school. I have no horse in this race I was there watching as a neutral observer. How about the double dribble called (devin) against Holmes when the ball was knocked loose in the fouth period (no one had possession) or the illegal screen called with seconds to go against Holmes. Scott was throwing forearms and moving on every screen they set and no calls were made against them, they need to be consistent, but that is hard to do when you are officiating a game that a friend of yours is coaching one of the teams. Just to be clear here Devin and Steve were friends during high school and after. Devin should have removed himself from this game and since I am aware of that relationship it makes several of his late game calls suspicious. That is my biggest issue is the conflict of interest not that Holmes lost the game. Granted Holmes could have done more to close out this game but officials are human and some are biased whether you want to believe it or not!

I too am neither a Holmes nor Scott fan, and the missed calls were on both teams and that is indeed a part of the game, but again as I said, if Holmes just makes a respectful 60% via the Charity Line, your complaint is mute of the men in stripes. The funny thing is, you know it too!

Congrats to the Eagles!!!:dancingpa:dancingpa
