Congratulations to Coach Fromeyer and Coach Adkins. Fantastic year by the Eagles capped off by the Regional Championship. Coach Carr has a fantastic job building this program and has some great coaches on his staff. Eagles teams always play their tails off and are very respectful. Nice to see good things happen to good people.

 

Last I checked Cov-Scott is in the 10th Region and they were not Regional Champs in the 10th. They got beat in the semi's by Mason Co. last Sunday.

CovScott is invited to this tourney every year because of their proximity and this is not a true 9th Region tourney.

 

Kenton Co is the only County I think to field teams in 3 different Regions.

Cov Scott- 10th

Simon Kenton- 8th

Dixie Heights- 9th

Actually you are correct BUT....Considering the fact that this freshmen tournament has teams from 3 different regions makes it that much more special. If you asked the Scott coaches which tournament they would have rather won, it was a no brainer. They won the one they wanted. Congratulations again to the NKAC Freshmen Tournament Champs! Is that better?

In all honesty, I'd imagine they would rather win the 10th Region tournament as that is the one they have to win in order to make it to Rupp down the road 2-3 years from now. I understand they are more familiar with the kids in the NKY tournament and that may make it a little more special to them, however, I'd think most would have them win the 10th because those are the players and teams they will have to beat to win the Region as they mature...

This might be the bigger question to ask but with Scott varsity struggling with depth do any of the freshmen get an opportunity to move up for districts and do they have time to get up to speed to make a difference. I don't know about the guards but could Jackson give the frontline players a break or help out in case of foul trouble?

Jackson is a very good frosh player but he would struggle against Varsity Bigs. He is only 6'2 at best and I think he will be a very solid player at Scott in the future but not so sure he is ready to step in against the Mason Co's orGRC's.

But they are currently bringing in 5'8" guards off the bench to replace Niederegger and Jones on the frontline?

If Coach Carr felt that there was an impact freshman who could make a contribution to the Eagles varsity this year, I'm pretty sure he would not have waited until now to make that happen.
