Holmes 17-5 and winners of 4 in a row takes a trip to the hill to face NCC 12-6 and fresh off an impressive blowout of St. Henry 73-43 on the 3rd. Will the Thorobreds be able to slow the Bulldogs down one night after traveling to Beechwood to face the Tigers? Will Holmes hot shooting have cooled off and allow the Breds to play a little zone, or will they prefer to play more uptempo to let Pangallo get up and down the court for easy buckets?

Holmes SHOULD win this one by 10+ but they've traditionally struggled with the Breds up on the hill.

 

If Newcath gets hot from outside, we could have a ball game that goes either way. Holmes has to respect the 3 ball or they'll find themselves in a close one. Pangallo and Meyer are more than capable of keeping the Breds in the game with their ability to stroke it from outside.

 

With that said, I think Holmes' overall size and athleticism will give the Breds fits. Pittman v Geisler should be a war down low but I think Pittman's length will neutralize Geisler the same way it did to Thelen of CCH. This takes away a big part of what Newcath wants to do. Overall, Newcath will struggle to match up with Holmes across the board which will lead to a lot of second chance points for Holmes off offensive rebounds.

 

With Holmes playing very well lately, I'll take the Dogs by double digits. I don't think Pangallo and Geisler will be enough to win this one for the Breds and I see Pittman being the difference with a big game down low.

More snow is the only thing I think can keep the boys from Holmes from winning this one. Holmes is getting hot at the right time and the snow is the only thing cooling them down.

I say Holmes 57-48. Dawgs pull away in the 4th.

I think I will try to make it to this one. I like the Bulldogs by 5 or less.

Depends on whether NewCath hits from outside or not. If they can shoot 40% from 3, they will take it. If they shoot less, then they will lose by 8+
