You can't forget, although an excuse, a valid one. The starting shortstop (captain), the head captain senior captain DH (absent), and the team spent nearly 2 hours getting the field ready to play this game. They were physically and mentally drained.

Don't forget the absence of senior team captain Danny Niehaus. Biggest leader on the team who happens to be a starter.

That's what I would do as well, but I think he's going to try and get up big on HC which is why I think he'll try and stick with Elliot for about the first 5 rather than bring him in. I honestly don't know how many hitters on Holy Cross can have a successful day against Elliot if he's throwing well (which he will).

Districts are coming around and these two teams are going to battle it out for a spot in the 9th region tournament. Beechwood will be throwing Elliot, Holy cross will have Roenker on the mound. Who do you have?

Without Shuttleworth I don't know if they can win the next 2 games in the region.

Today's game at Cov Cath should be a pretty fun one to watch. Well see who CCH throws and how well Hunter Jones handles them. . .

Patrick Krumme struck out the side in the top of the first and then the Colonel offense exploded 15 runs in the first. Junior Nick George made his first varsity pitching appearance, throwing 4 innings and allowing only one run

As a matter of fact, there's more than just 2 seniors on the staff. Late season pinch runner pickup, senior Mike Jacobs should also be in the mix. Also, the Senior book keeper Rick Kramer has put in a lot of time and effort to make sure the Colonels stats are up to date and precise. Good Job RICK AND MIKE!!!

Fpr the sake of your stats would you rather face an Isler or Estcheid, or would you rather face Calvary Christians ace or Dayton's ace? I believe anyone trying to pad their stats would take choice (B).

Agreed. Teams like Ryle, Cov Cath, and Beechwood see other teams aces probably close to 80% of the time they play local teams. If you have a top notch team tomorrow and Bellevue today, I think you throw your #2 or #3 today and save something for tomorrow. Bellevue might have an above average strength of schedule but how many of the BEST pitchers do they see? My guess is close to 20 or 30% of the time.:confused:

What would Boone be without Ferris? My guess is a below .500 team.
