Lloyd 14 Conner 10

Must be National upset night.

On any given night anyone can be beat.

Conner gives up 4 unearned runs in the first three innings! Then goes up 10 to 7 at the end of five, only to implode defensively! If you put up 10 runs you got to win! Offensive contributors were Thomas 1B, 2BB, 2R, Brake 1B, HR, 2R, Pugh 1B, Grand slam! Defense, Defense, Defense!

This is the second time this season the Juggs have defeated Conner. This brings Lloyd's record to 16-12. Nice win Juggernauts.

I don't see this as a big upset at all.. Lloyd has a very solid team this year.

Oh....my vote goes for BIG upset.

Well seeing how Lloyd already beat Conner it can't be too surprising.. Conner is a very good team and might have been slightly favored in this one but Lloyd is playing good baseball. They are the favorite to win the 34th IMO.

I'm not going to argue that Conner is playing good baseball, but so is Lloyd. No one in this region gives them enough credit. Lloyd has knocked off Conner twice, beat Boone County by 8, beat Holy Cross by 3, and lost to Dixie and Campbell County by one. I can see where this would be an upset considering Lloyd hasn't had a good baseball program in about ten years, but Lloyd has a solid team this year and hopefully will be able to make some noise in the region.

Hardley an upset, considering Lloyd had already beaten them once this season. This was a game between two fairly evenly matched baseball teams: Conner - 16-9. Lloyd - 16-12.

This was a fun game to watch. Best of luck to both teams in district play.

Who pitched for Conner?

Honestly I don't have any names, but the first was a right-handed senior (Not Hoskins) and then a lefty was brought in.

Conner pretty much gave this one away. They hit the ball well but probably had the worse game fielding and on the mound that I've seen so far this season. The cougars also did not seem ready to play, or like they wanted to be there for that matter.

Lloyd hit the belt high fastballs all game long and played well defensively. Senior Josh Dahlenburg started for the cougars on senior night and absolutely got lit up. Belt high fastball, after belt high fastball. Lloyd is a solid team however, but may have a tough time winning the 34th due to their lack of pitching.

Do you know who the lefty was that relieved for Conner? And how did he fare?

That would be sophomore Jody Hubbard. He has done well for the cougars so far this year, but left a few too many fast balls at the belt. I believe he also gave up 7 runs, not sure how many of those were earned.

As so I guess that leaves me asking who Conner will rely on to pitch after Shuttlesworth throws the first district game (assuming he does).
