Beechwood pushes two across in the bottom of the 7th to pull it out. Colosimo gets the win in relief of Smith who came in in relief of Snyder.

My 5 reasons why this was a close game!

 

1. Rain drops kept getting in the Beechwood outfielders eyes so they could not catch a ball.

 

2. Coach Sanders hid himself and was the starting catcher and went 4-4 with 6 RBI'S

 

3. Every Beechwood player was thinking to much after being asked the question. Is their really a such thing as a red tiger? This took their consentration off the game.

 

4. Bellevue's spikes were bigger for better traction.

 

5. The Bellevue Tigers have improved under coach Sanders and they are simply just headed into the right direction and the squad has done a outstanding job.

How did Bwood pull those two runs in during the 7th?

The main reason for Bellevue's current success isn't so much Coach Sanders (no offense coach, you're doing a good job) as it is because of two coaches that started a lot of this team in Knothole. Rick Buckler and Tim Hegge, both of which have a son (and a vested interest) on this team. They are great coaches who won't stand for a team not going out and giving everything they have on the field. I've seen these kids grow up on the diamond and by the time they're seniors it should be fun to watch them.

 

Never underestimate the influence of a good Knothole Coach. Congrats guys!

They've laid some good ground work but it's a whole new ball game at the high school level. As you stated no knock to Coach Sanders so I'll say the same about the knothole coaches but I don't think there are many guys that can do what Coach Sanders does with players. Again not knocking anyone but if they were losing would you be knocking the coach like most poeple? Bellevue is lucky to have a guy like Coach Sanders and better hope they can keep him there.

It's not the loss fans are excited over. It's the bright future of this team. It's the appreciation for a team that has worked hard and is on the edge of seeing that hard work pay off. I would think even the CCH24's of BGP could appreciate that. Keep fighting the fight Tigers!

Is Coach Sanders that good? What makes him different? Bc/s I know someone that played for him and they said he isn't anything impressive, this was a couple of years ago but they werent to high on coach Sanders

I've never played for him but have worked with players that have and watched him coach. The ones that are unimpressed IMO are the ones who don't or didn't listen to him and go home and listen to mom and dad say how great the kid is and the coach is terrible. Coach Sanders is knowledgable, good hearted, and the players come 1st. Like most poeple in todays world if you fail it's easier when you can blame someone else. I say this having never played for Coach Sanders nor do I have a child that's ever played for him so my opinion is without bias. Just giving credit where it's due.

Let me tell you something about Coach Sanders. I know him very well. He grew up poor in inner city Covington with a huge love of baseball. He eats, sleeps, drinks, etc., baseball. Especially where his kids at Bellevue are concerned. There is nothing he wouldn't do to help them be better persons as well as ballplayers. He lives and dies with each win and loss, believe me. That being said, he can be hard on his guys sometimes but it's only tough-love with a purpose. He also does not have time for parents who think their little "prima donnas" should be playing more, different positions, etc. I also know you cannot please everyone, but I'll bet for every person that has a critical word of Coach Sanders, there will be 20 who think very kindly of him.
