35th District Tourney Predicitions

Featured Replies

Well, w/a Beechwood win today against Holmes (11-1 in 5) the brackets are set.

May 19, CovCath will play Holmes at 5pm

May 20th, Beechwood will play HC at 4:30pm

May 21st, Championship at 4:30pm

All games, as of right now will be played at Thomas More. If weather messes things up, games could be played at Dixie.

I will take Beechwood to beat CCH in the finals. They are playing well, good pitching/fielding and finally hitting the ball. Hopefully they will take a 100 level course on baserunning before next weeks tournament. See the trainer, as he was one heck of a baserunner in the day according to his best friend.

My take

Isler CovCath will be on the hill vs Holmes

Elliott will go for Beechwood vs Roenker Cov Holy Cross

Nutini for CovCath vs Beechwood who will throw Smith with CovCath coming out on top!

My guess. Bob starts Smith vrs HC and his #3 vrs CCH and uses Elliott as his closer throughout the Districts....but he will not let them get down more then a run or two before he brings in Elliott.

If that's the case...it's too close to call.

I am going to go with the upset and pick HC (primarily because of Roenker) over BHS. Either way, it should be a good, close game.

I'll take a Cov Cath v.s. Cov Holy Cross 35th championship game. HC will likely throw Roenker against Beechwood and pull the upset IMO.

Cov Cath will win the district though no matter who they play...

I could of swore I read somewhere all seeding games must be completed by May 10th? It is was in the KHSAA rules this year.

Beechwood and Holmes were rained out last week and just got the game in last night, so I am guessing they made an exception.

As for picks I am taking CCH to win the district, but I am taking Beechwood to beat CCH in the region finals.

Absolutely correct! However, due to fantastic weather in the NKY area, the Holmes/Beechwood game was rained out on Friday, therefore, there was an exception.

The state was made aware of this thanks to the head of the umpires in the

9th region. I didn't know this was part of his job or is it just because he loves Beechwood so much?:sssh:

Not sure about this one for CCH. I agree this will probably be the rotation but Nutini got roughed up pretty good last time he pitched against beechwood. He won but they did hit him pretty good from what I recall. Either way I think CCH wins district.

Nutini had a rough frist innings giving up two HR's, but the three runs scored off him later in the game were unearned. Nutini has pitched some outstanding baseball since them.

That's what I would do as well, but I think he's going to try and get up big on HC which is why I think he'll try and stick with Elliot for about the first 5 rather than bring him in. I honestly don't know how many hitters on Holy Cross can have a successful day against Elliot if he's throwing well (which he will).

I don't see how anyone could favor any team other than Cov Cath.

Update on times: Mon game is at 5pm, Tues/Wed are now scheduled at 4pm due to commencments being held at TM, weather permitting!

Elliott will throw against HC! You must win the first one before you play the second one.
