Congrats to Oldham and good luck at State. Good year for Gallatin and congrats, just wished they had played more games and some tougher opponents. Lack of tougher games might have hurt them in preparing for winning the region.

Jewell's on Main Street is a great place to eat.

Coach Anderson is stepping down but applying for Ryle is up in the air. It does look like Ginn will be going to Gallatin and Thacker, who knows? I don't even think daddy knows where he wants to put her next year. Wouldn't surprise me if she follows Ginn.

I don't know how any coach can simply forget about an opportunity to get his players recognized. It's not like he didn't have previous reminders and didn't know the deadline. He didn't do his job, plain and simple.

The bottom bracket is loaded. Those in the top should be grateful that Anderson and Oldham are in the same bracket.

Interviews will take place next week. Decision will be made quickly.

If Ryle continues with the parent approach, they will continue to have problems. Hiring Schwartz would be a big mistake.

I would have thought this position would have had more interest and more experienced candidates than those listed above.

If you think you know who it is, why don't you quit playing the guessing game and tell us? Since its not Buddy, is it Scott, Rob, Jesse, Ben, Rodney, Shane, James, Dick, Jane, Bonnie, Clyde or some other AAU coach?

I'm not bashing him by any means. Just stating my opinion based on his record and my personal encounters. Additionally, if he was so loved at Nicholas County, don't you think they would have found a job somewhere in the district for him? That's not a uncommon practice. It happens more than most people realize.

What's going on with this job? Has it been filled?

All they had to do was beat 3-26 Robertson to get to the region and lost to Montgomery Co 81-39. His record speaks for itself. If you had a regional contender like Grant does this year, would you hire someone with his varsity record? I sure wouldn't. Also, I think Kevin is sometimes his worst enemy. He is not the most personable guy and he rubs people the wrong way. Not a real people person but does have a pretty big ego.

I would sure hope they could get someone better than Reinhardt. He was 16-45 in two seasons at Nicholas County and with their schedule they should have been better. Maybe there's a reason he's a "former coach". Plunkett may be a good choice because he knows the kids and it would be an easy transition. Can't see them hiring someone from the freshman level. I still think there are going to be some other names surface that will surprise some people but we will wait and see. Grant should spark some interest for some experienced coaches.

Two pretty even teams but SK is just a little better. They were 3-0 by a combined 6-1 run total.

Great game! A real pitchers duel. Both offenses struggled but that may have been due to very good pitching. Congrats to SK and good luck to both teams in the regionals.

That was the score of the boys baseball game. Walton girls beat Grant 4-0.

I can't say that I think Patty is a great coach but her teams were always a contender. I have talked to several of her former players throughout the years and I must say that most were positive.

I look for Anderson to repeat as the 8th Region champs. They are experienced and have the depth that other teams don't have. I wouldn't be surprised if the win it all next year.

Yes, middle school girls at Walton. She is a very good coach. Maybe Paul will put her on his staff.

I'm puzzled with this hire.

Things must have been pretty tough for Coach Hicks at Grant County for him to leave with the players that are returning. I would think it would be hard to walk away from that.

WOW! Sure thought they would have hired someone with some varsity experience. Pretty big step up for David. I like the kid but is he really ready for jump?
