  1. There have been some pretty good explanations as to why. The feeder system is key as is the off season and pre-season work that they do. NKY is the other big power with Highlands, Beechwood and others. Also some strong catholic school teams with strong feeder systems.
  2. I think you all believe Central has not reloaded. The QB they have ran the option in the St.X game better than anyone I've ever seen. They will give the Highlands defense trouble if they gave St.Xs(arguably the best in the state).
  3. He is the backup QB. Pretty talented as a running QB.
  4. Yes he hurt his foot and is out 4-6 weeks
  5. Jimmyref - Beach starts middle linebacker now. He is no longer a Rb/Fb
  6. Brutscher (LB) is out for the season with a neck injury
  7. 3 interceptions? that doesn't sound like a very solid game to me
  8. MRI will be performed on Tuesday. I hope for the best.
  9. Mexitucky, I could not agree more. My son plays for St X and I am very impressed with CoachJ and his willingness to discuss the game and what he has planned for the future. Count me as a guy cheering hard for the Bruins from here on out.
  10. CoachJ, I must say one of the best posts I have ever seen on this board. I wish you and your team success in the future. I am sure it will come just judging from the way you stated your approach.
  11. Played at Central last year and they had folks manning some grills. Really good BBQ. Kept me warm on a cool night.
  12. I think that Central clearly has the better team. Central by 10 or more.
  13. Bench and Squat are important lifts, but the most important lift for a football player is cleans. It's a full body lift that determines a players' exploviseness.
  14. Did fine but lost to Manual in the Semis. Manual went on to win the tournament. I saw some pretty good skill guys on any number of teams. I personally like the 7 on 7 tournaments for what they are, work on timing for offense and defense to work on coverages. In the end it is not real football. What teams do once they put on the pads and have to defend against pressure and the run game is what it is really about.
  15. THSRocks - I did not know he was that new in the job. I love to see that kind of leadership and intensity. It is why I tell people all the time that Central was as well coached and organized as any team we played last year. I want High School football in Louisville to be as good as possible and it seems that coaches getting support from their schools and being at those schools for an extended period is the way for that happen.
  16. Pretty good 7 on 7. My son plays for St. X and I was very impressed with the coaching staff from Western. They did a great job with their team and were very talented.
  17. After watching the UofL 7 on 7 I can say there is talent all over the field. Offensively I thought Matt Brutscher, Deuce Finch, Jeremiah Neal, Brian Bauscher, Steven Goodwin and Chase Carrarro looked great. Defensively the DBs were very strong(Kamber, Galbraith, Burkle and Sears). The LBs looked good following the graduation of some strong players (McCormick, Brutscher and Kilkelly) So I think the Tigers should be good to go.
  18. JD Dog I think you need to think a little deeper than you may able to. If a team decides not play against a team in that situation it could be because they believe the risk is not worth the payoff(A 7 on 7 trophy?). So instead of making bold protestations against a coaches decision, why don't you offer something of value. :irked:
  19. There is a definite risk of injury. Though touch a lot can happen out there. Holy Cross also decided not to play them. By the way it was Bowie not Trinity. Hazard, Simon Kenton, Male, St X and Southwestern did pretty well.
  20. GreenDandy, I thought Central was as good a team and as well as coached a team as we played all year. I know they graduated a bunch of talent, but they will be a major hurdle in 2008.
  21. A few differences in the starting thread. The DBs will be CB-Kamber CB-Galbraith SS-Hall FS-Sears Carraro will get some Offensive play and Sweeney is a very dangerous receiver. C. Brutscher is being moved OLB.
  22. A very few states seperate Public and Private. Most divide by classes and some have divisional differences.
  23. A truly first class group of seniors. They truly lived up to the term student athlete.
