I just saw Henry County beat Oldham County on Saturday in a scrimmage so watch out for the Lady Wildcats. -
Stacy May did a great job IMO. They will be hard pressed to replace him.

Congrats to both teams. Scott ran out of gas coming out of the bottom bracket. Mercy has a fantastic team and Mark always does a great job. -
Why do regions trade officials?

I agree with you, CM. -
Gallatin/South Oldham updates
Mr. Athletics replied to robert-crumb's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I saw a big game a couple of years ago that was decided by a call with 2 tenths of a second left that decided a game so tonight's contest wasn't the first time. Most times the call is not made but I have seen it happen before. Great season for the Wildcats and good luck to South Oldham. -

I have followed Mark Evans' career for a long time and he is no doubt, one of the very best coaches in the state. Good luck at the state. -

I would think he would want to get his kids the recognition they deserve by reporting the stats. I hear that reporting the stats to the KHSAA is not required until the end of the season. Is this the way it works? -
Anderson County 53 Simon Kenton 40

No big deal. The kid is probably sorry she shot it but after getting to the finals 2 straight years and falling short, she let the excitement of the moment get to her. -

Why do regions trade officials?
Mr. Athletics replied to CincySportsFan's topic in KY Girls Basketball (High School)
The list of pros and cons hits the nail on the head. The entire region votes on whether to stay in or go out. If the decision is made to go out, then the KHSAA makes the decision on which officiating group will come in. From what I hear, the officials do like going to another region to call the games. My guess is those teams that win will be for getting out of region officials and those that lose will want to stay in. -

SK missed some easy shots early and shot poorly throughout the game from 3 point land. Anderson's size on the interior took away the inside game. Anderson came ready to play and jumped out on them early. I know I for one underestimated the defensive ability of the Lady Bearcats. Winning on SK's home court has to be very sweet for them. Congratulations to Tony and his girls. Good luck at Diddle. -

I think they have been consistant. They will call hand checking and if you have been doing it all year, then I guess it would be hard to make the adjustment. They have missed some calls like those in the 8th region do. The 8th region officials like going out of the region from what I hear. When you have a certain team several times during the season and see and hear the same stuff when you officiate, I think the job becomes more difficult for them. These out of region guys have no fear of being scratched the next season and they don't really know who the best teams are and who the best players are going into the game. Congratulations and good luck to SK and Anderson. Shelby and WV can hold their heads high as well. -
