Scott Co. had too many long stretches where they struggled to put the ball in the hole. No. 21 and 54 getting their fourth foul really hurt, because Mercy went all-out driving against them to get them out of the game. To the Cardinal girls' credit, they never fouled out, but their team just couldn't come up with enough makes at the end.

Mercy tried to let them back in it, for what it's worth. The Jags missed a ton of layups, and probably should have won by 20, given Scott's troubles hitting shots and turning the ball over against the press.

Mercy certainly peaked at the right time.

Had quite a few losses in the regular season and then came into the 7th Region Tournament as the 25th District runner-up, having lost to DuPont Manual 67-55 in the district championship game.

Congratulations!!!

I looked at their schedule and it may have been the toughest in the state. Perhaps that is a reason for their toughness and success. A loss to a high quality team is not a bad thing. Seems like a great group of girls.
