Congrats to Aiden on winning the "That's My Boy Award" at the The Greater Cincinnati Chapter of the National Football Foundation 56th Annual Scholar-Athlete Banquet Thursday night at the original Montgomery Inn. Williams, a former winner of the award, who died in New York in the World Trade Center on September, 11, 2001. He was 30 years old. Brian was a three sport star and a star in the classroom at Covington Catholic High School. He had an accumulative grade point average of 4.0 and was a three year varsity letterman in football on two state championship teams. Brian was team captain his senior year and was also First Team All-State as a tight end. He was a two-time silver medalist in the discus throw at the Kentucky State Championships and was also a First Team All Conference Basketball player in Northern Kentucky. Brian continued his football career at Columbia University in New York City where he was a starter at tight end for four years. After graduation Brian began working as a bond trader at Canton-Fitzgerald whose offices were on the top floors of The World Trade Center. Jones didn't play in the first game as he was on retreat. Took CovCath a while to adjust to not having him. I know it's all in fun, but I'm not seeing a 43 point Beechie victory.

To answer the question, it absolutely devalues out of state wins against strong competition. Discourages teams from seeking out strong out of state opponents.

Wouldn't it only undervalue out of state teams if they are over .500? All out of state team's record are calculated at .500, so an beating an 0 - 10 team counts the same as beating a 5 - 5 team, correct? It would benefit teams to play bad out of state teams?

There absolutely was a NL fan ejection, right before the beginning of second half play. The game proceeded smoothly from there, but couldn’t tell why he was asked to leave.

All credit to the Jaguars. Not many teams would have beaten them tonight. Does anybody know yet the North Laurel fan was ejected coming out of halftime?

Any stats? CovCath with a lot of silly turnovers, but the Bulldog defense certainly had something to do with that.

The Northeast Ohio Classic is a 4 game event. St. Ed's, Glenville, and Massillon are playing out of state teams as well. Massillon (1st all time in high school wins) is paired with Valdosta (GA) (fourth all time in high school wins). That would be a great game to watch.

All things considered, not a bad schedule for the Rebels. I think the Lloyd and Walton games should be competitive and decent gates to boot.

The Moe guys I talk to doubt the Crusaders would hire a coach from a smaller school classification in Kentucky. They are not on the selection committee, but usually have their finger on the pulse of the athletic programs.

Sheppard's commitment to UK definitely gives him a leg up in the voting.
