EXCELLENT job of coaching by Sully! When is the last time CCH trailed the entire game?    Cooper is 2-0 vs CCH in the regionals and both times they were heavy underdogs. Doesn’t matter, Sully’s

Somebody forgot to tell Coach Sully and the Jags they were “supposed” to lose!!  This team NEVER listened to all the prognosticators who predicted they would get blistered, especially with the loss of Brooks and Pouncy!!

I said a month ago after the first game between these two that the 9th region was wide open and I got laughed at! That’s why you PLAY THE GAME!!

The lead wire to wire! ?

Wow. Cooper missed the second of two free throws, keeping it a one possession game. CovCath got the rebound with time winding out. Hussey was a little long on the last-second 3 for CovCath. Bam. Cooper vs. Newport for all the marbles. Whodathunkit.

Did Pouncy play?

No!

I saw a replay of the last shot - that was an incredibly good look for the situation CovCath was in, rebounding a missed free throw and having no timeouts left with 4 seconds remaining.  Just put it long.

Ipsaro needed to take over the game long before 2 minutes left.

Cooper wanted it more, was obvious from the get go as CovCath looked asleep to me.

Interesting antics by the ref late in the game, holding the ball and walking it over instead of bounce passing it to the player, ate up 10 seconds. Then didn’t call delay of game warning when Cooper player was quite literally boxing out Ipsaro so they couldn’t get the ball off the floor, ate another 10 seconds.

With that said, didn’t matter. CovCath was asleep until far too late.

#15 for Cooper is a DANDY.

Great game! Great job by the Jags! What a great coaching job by coach Sully. Lost arguably his two best players this year in Brooks in December and then Pouncy last game. Yet still found a way to get it done! Also great job by Yamil for Cooper who had an amazing game for Cooper.

Does this game qualify as a game that was never in doubt? Since Cooper led wire to wire and for the majority of the game was up at least 5 or more?

I’m just joking, I just had to say that based off of a discussion that was had in a football thread in the fall. Great job by CovCath battling all the way until the end! They gave themselves a really good look at the end to possibly send it to overtime after being down 7 with a minute left. They are a great team and had a great season!

That's just good gamesmanship IMO.  Especially the latter if it's the situation I'm thinking of, when Cooper was supposed to inbound there late and CovCath had no timeouts.  If it's another one, then perhaps not as sporting.

Definitely a strategy, and smart on Cooper’s part, but I know it was called in the Conner game earlier in the tournament and should have been called at that point today.

Great coaching and even do, better execution on the kids end to execute a rule in your favor, but should’ve at least been a foul called on Ipsaro as he was heavily pulling on the Cooper players back to try and get around him yet no warning for delay of game and no foul call.

Everyone I talked to said the region was wide open.  I said the same back in December. CovCath gets the love in the state rankings, but the people up here who watch the games knew it was up for grabs.
