What is the high school intentional grounding rule? Thought there was a couple times a flag could have been thrown but, after huddling, the refs did not throw a flag.

X/Moe/Elder games are usually close, with LaSalle back a little most years. It's not uncommon for the loser of an X/Moe/Elder regular season game to win the rematch in the playoffs. But we will let the Buckeyes sort that out themselves. Big game next week for the Tigers!

You may be right. Or you may be wrong. The front loaded schedule doesn't seem to bother Beechwood in the playoffs. And I've seen good CovCath teams wore down in the regular season by overscheduling. We won't know how it will play out until we know how it plays out.

At some point, we are going to need a poll about which home team outplayed CovCath the most while losing the game. Should be a close vote.

I grew up with St. Henry friends and somehow CovCath was the biggest game on their schedule too. Seems like the Colonels are a big game on a lot of schedules. When I was at CovCath, seems the big rival in football was Highlands, with Boone, NewCath, and Beechwood in the next group.

Why wouldn't Highlands win this one by 3 or 4 touchdowns? If Highlands has designs on a 5A title, this game should not be close.

Don't think this is correct. Each conference in southwest Ohio has an assignor who matches crews with games. Crews will give the assignor dates they are available to work and most crews work for multiple conferences. A coach can request to not have a crew return, but I don't think that is any different than how Kentucky does it. It's anecdotal, but I've found officiating in Ohio to be just as good in Kentucky and, in most cases, better.
