St. X (3-0) will host Elder (OH) (2-2) after having a open week. Elder is coming off a 34-33 loss to #1 Ohio St. Edward.

Last year, Elder won 24-13.

The St. X defense has played better than expected the first 3 games but will be going against a strong Elder offense who has scored at least 28 points in every game against strong competition. Of the two sides of the ball, Elder is weaker on defense but have played some high level opponents. The Tiger offense will have to have a good night to hang with the Panthers who can put up the points. Elder is ranked #11 in Ohio Division 1 but most likely will move up after a good showing against St. Edward.

Can St. X get the win for Kentucky or does Elder leave with Harbin points in hand?

The game is at St. X but will still be tough game.

Elder moved up to #7 in Ohio D1 and #13 in the state.

Elders's best win is a 28-7 win over Springboro (OH) and Springboro has a similar Calpreps rating to Lexington Catholic and Central Hardin. They had a 39-35 loss to Pickerington North who is ranked #5 in Ohio. Also beat Sts. Newman and Goretti (PA) 35-14 and they are ranked #97 in Pennsylvania. 

Massey Ratings has a score prediction of 28-20, Elder, with a 65% chance for an Elder victory.

I’d say they feel like they start down 6-0 is because the overall level of officiating in Ohio is garbage. I know the boys in Ky have issues but each association holds its memebers accountable. In Ohio a guy finds his own games and gets a crew together, only accountability is to do a good enough job to keep the schools you like doing games for.
